Anderson by complete beatdown... i think chuck's only chance is to take him down and hope ot to get caught there... looking bad for him!

wow, and this coming from chucks biggest fan on FF! I never woulda guessed?!
that being said I also think Silva would win. Clinch and Speed would be determining factors here IMO.

if theyre both the same weight then i think it would be very close, but with chuck at 205 and anderson at 185, i dont think anderson would be able to utilize the clinch as well, and therefore id give the edge to chuck

In an open weight fight Chuck wouldn't have to cut down to 205. I think he would come in heavier and probably be to strong for Silva, who has fought at as low as 167.

If the fight turns out to be a stand-up war Chuck being heavier has both pros and cons. Yeah, he would have a lot more power then Anderson, but he would also be a lot slower. With Anderson's ultra-precision striking plus a speed advantage over Chuck I could easily see Chuck getting picked apart by Anderson if the fight stayed on the feet. However, if Chuck were to utilize his wrestling skills and take Anderson to the ground then all that extra weight and strength would turn into a huge advantage for Chuck and I could see him either winning a decision or possibly getting a ground and pound TKO win.

yeah i am also Fight Forums bigest Anderson Silva fan... I actually prefered the Chuck Nuthugging to the Anderson Silva nut hugging... The spider huggery is out of hand much worse then chucks was... people claimed chuck could beat fedor but it wasnt heavily claimed and no one took them seroius... people honestly believe anderson can beat fedor... i think anderson would flop at the 205lb weight limit but chuck is the perfect fight for him... as is jardine.

Chuck hits too hard for someone like Anderson to handle. Even the punches that don't land hurt you. I think Anderson is a great fighter but its a case of superb skill not being enough to overcome size and power.

Style wise I think Anderson Silva is the worst possible matchup for Liddell. He is a great striker who is even better at not getting hit. Yeah Chuck has power but I honestly would be suprised to see a shot land again Silva. I think Silva would cirlce, keep jabbing, knock him down once, knock him down again then take him out for good. Just a bad matchup style wise I think.

I voted Silva before reading that it was open weight. With Chuck bringing in power like that I would have to give it to him. But I always thought open weight fights were lame.

Stylistically, isn't Chuck Liddell the worst possible match up for Anderson Silva? Silva does nothing but come forward looking for ways to end the fight with his superb striking and accuracy and Chuck just waits and counters. Chuck is great at creating space and then he back pedals and sooner or later he will clip you on your chin. No doubt about it that Anderson is prob. one of the best fighters pound for pound easily, but Chuck Liddell has the power and strength advantage, while speed and accuracy go to Silva. I doubt Silva would be able to get the clinch against Chuck as well, as he is really good at avoiding it. He just pushes off the opponent and slicks in an elbow. I'd say Chuck by KO, TKO or decision, but then again Silva could easily do the same to Chuck. It would overall be a very exciting matchup.

I think since Chuck is such a heavier fighter he would throw that same elbow on A. Silva like he did on W. Silva from the clinch. I give the fight to Chuck even at 205

Chuck would dominate for five rounds only for Silva to win a judges decision, Chuck would look at Dana White who smiled and evil-laughed "BWAHAHAHAHAHA", betrayal is a horrible thing.

To much speed in the case of Anderson Silva , better hands and ground game . Chuck would lose in highlight fashion.

Anderson Silva by far, his speed and powerful thrusts are way to much for Chuck. Yes chuck has strong jabs and right hooks but silva is a expert at blocking and dodging, swing and a miss for chuck= starts to get tired and thats when silva comes in with his speed and overwelms him with punches and knees

Easy night for Anderson. His strikes are so accurate. Chuck throws those looping punches and I believe Anderson would come in on one of those looping punches and seal the deal
