Default UFC 85 will NOT be on SpikeTV - UPDATED

That's the way its listed on the UFC.com website! It wasn't listed like that yesterday.

Nah, I was just joking; I dont care about commercials, would much rather save the money. I just know someone will come on here and complain b/c of something as stupid as commercials, if they bothered me that bad I have a dvr and can record an hour ahead b/4 I start watching, no problem at all.....

LOL, NP.

DVRs and Ti-Vo will eventually eliminate commercial TV. Script Magazine had an article that came out after the writer strike that spoke about how commercials are failing to have any audience. Most people with DVRs will just record their favorite shows and fast-forward the commercials.

Product placement will likely replace commecials. They want to eliminate generic names invented for TV shows and movies that do not want to pay Coca-Cola or BMW or whatever for the rights to use the product in their films and TV shows.

But, that may yet be a few years away.

I am just glad that we can get a few free PPVs on Spike.

I actually prefer paying for them. I'd much rather watch it live without Spike's horrible commercials. I have a DVD recorded but watching it afterwards just isn't the same imo.

I hear ya, man. But after seeing the card for this event, I actually debated not buying the PPV for the first time ever.

I wasn't going to buy this card even with Chuck on it, thankfully now I don't have to!

Woot! WAR SPIKE AND ZUFFA!

I'll gladly watch 1 hour worth of commercials for $45

It would be different if Spike had HD, but it doesnt, therefore I would rather pay for it. 50.00 isnt alot of money

Thats a pretty arrogant statement my friend. Ive always enjoyed your posts and if you miss the quality of HD and the feeling of a PPV better I understand completely....

However, just because $50 is not alot of money to you, it can be to alot of other people. But Im very happy that its not for you, congratulations.

Moneybags McGee over here....

I agree that 50 bucks in reality isn't that much, but when you do it consistently every month, during Pride twice a month,it get's expensive.

Hence my year long exile from fightforum........

Giddyup! Start a little later and catch up. Works like a charm.

Note...set it to go over the intended air time in case you do not catch up.
