They put on good fights from time to time but the matchmaking is generally convoluted and there was no continuity between events, no rivalrys, heck, alot of the time you saw a core group of 5 or 6 guys fighting and then other unknowns/former puroresu stars coming in. DREAM didn't have time to grow really.

And historically, Bushido events usually didn't pull much as compared to the regular PRIDE events. Maybe Japan, even with its deluge of talented lighter weight fighters, really likes the big guys more?
i would say that is not questionable. As sad as it is i think it has to do with its lack of talent in the heavier weight classes that makes them so appealing. The love for freak matches i think is even an extension of that as well. Japen sure did love Andre the Gaint and Hulk Hogan too... I believe it has less to do with their ability or how the wwf marketed them but seer fact that they were gaint men. You have some gaint men coming out of Japen and all other countries as well but i think because of the USA's ****ed up water and passible standards for it, over whleming amount or crap in or meat products, and obession with being famous we tend to produce a lot of bigger men in sports. Any person over 6'3 gets asked if they play baskettball... anyone with a wide frame should play football.
