I can't help but get the feeling that if Florian loses, alot of people here will pull the Houston Alexander treatment and say "Oh I never picked him, and I always knew he was overrated."

If that were to happen, whoever says such a comment is not FF worthy. Kenny Florian has done more than enough to at least earn the respect as a talented fighter to the fans. Regardless of the outcome, both men are among the elite of 155lb fighters. Someone has to lose....

I figure, hey, that's why we bet! It's a quantifiable test of one's conviction and belief in a fighter! (I GOTTA figure out how the betting pool works for the next UFC!)

Anyway, it's harsh to say a fan isn't FF worthy just because an opinion about a fighter changes, and they go to the extreme of calling a fighter overated.

I'd argue to say that most of the fun of this forum is hearing each other talk out of our collective a$$e$. The term "overrated" and "underrated" have always amused me anyways. There's the official rankings and then there are our personal rankings. Obviously when we're calling a fighter overrated (or underrated) we're talking out of conclusions based upon our personal rankings. Which is OPINION. Which, really, is all we offer on this forum. Right?

Obviously neither fighter is comparable to Houston Alexander.
But I think it will be Huerta getting that treatment after losing this fight.
And to be honest with you, I agree with that. Not calling him a bum or Houston Alexander II, but he's definitely overrated imo.

A proven, good fighter and everything. Just overrated.
I mean, he's only got BJ, Sherk, Stevenson and Kenflo ranked above him here at FF.
There are a lot of guys in the UFC that would whoop him imo. And yeah, taking nothing away from him, but Guida would be the favorite for me in the rematch as well.

I haven't waited 'til after the fight. I'm calling him overrated right now.
Is that OK?

Tis OK with me and I agree 100%.

Not once during any of his fights in the UFC have I said to myself "wow, that guy is good." In fact, he really doesn't do anything exceptionally well except bring the fight forward. The kid has a motor and a big heart, I'll give him that, but he was definitely outclassed by Guida for 2 rounds, a guy that hardly shows up at all in the rankings.

I see Kenny being quicker to the punch, definitely being the better man on the ground, and even though Huerta has more fights, Kenny has the experience edge in big bouts. This should be a walkthrough for Kenny, but stranger things have happened, especially in Huerta bouts. Kenny FTW.

It's definitely OK to call Huerta overrated. I mean I'm a fan of his, but even I would admit he's overrated a bit. And yeah, both fighters are more talented overall than Alexander. I was just saying I could see a scenario where so many people have jumped on Florian's bandwagon after his last couple wins(like they did with Alexander after his first two wins in the UFC) and then tearing their ACLs and breaking their ankles because they can't jump off his bandwagon fast enough if he loses.

I agree with this. I mean Huerta is good but I just don't think he's THAT good. As for this fight I'll go with Florian by decison.... just kidding.. Florian by sub in the 2nd or 3rd.

Wow, this should be a great fight! I think both fighters are good fighters, and should be a battle.

I'm going with Florian for the victory, but Huerta could def. pull it off. I would think the winner of this fight will get the winner of Penn vs. Sherk.

I like Kenny in this one. I really thought Lauzon would take their fight but I was really surprised by Florian's strength, I guess seeing him manhandled by Sherk for five rounds made me not take this into consideration, he is bigger and better than I thought. I remember him saying he doesn't want a title shot until he is the only clear challenger and I doubted he'd do it. Now I'm not so sure.
