I'm starting to work out twice a week in the gym and my systema class once a week. What is most likely to occur is that your going to lose fat and build some muscle at the sametime. So at first you might not lose any weight according to the scale but you'll see the differance in the mirror. I would recommend a pre and postworkout shake to power you through your workout and aid you in recovery. Your preworkout shake should consist of .20grams of carbs per pound of bodyweight and .05grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. For a 200lb. person this is about 40g of carbs and 10g of protein. Mix in 16 to 24 ounces of water and drink half before the workout and sip the rest during the workout. For a post workout shake you want .20grams of both carbs and protein mixed in 16 to 24 ounces of water. Again, for a 200lb. person this is about 40g carbs/40g protein. Drink immediately after finishing your workout. I've had great success with this system.
