Am I the only fight fan that thinks stare downs are retarded?

But I agree that Silva/'Cro Cop' was probably one of the best.

Liddell vs. Silva was an awesome staredown, Silva was bouncing around and Chuck's eyes were just following him while he looked pissed.

no, you're not. I don't mind a little staredown, but when it reaches the Frye/Thompson level, then yes, that's stupid. I like Fedor because he just has that blank look on his face before and after a fight.

I like Randy Couture's smile during the weigh in before his fight with Sylvia.

Herring - Nakao ftw
Hughes - Trigg II, Matt just stood there with this great arrogant look on his face which just lanced any confidence Frank had.

any of cro cops, his opponent is alays bouncing around or trying to look intimidating and he always just looks like he is completely expressionless, like he is made out of sheer granite

I'd say any staredown that includes Wanderlei Silva. He just looks so intense.

Yeah, that IMO, is the best of recent date. I mean when you make the 4 time UFC LHW c hamp, and most dominant LHW of recent memory smile after you give him the "1000 yard stare"?
You sorta already lost.
Not of the fighting world though, you should all see the new "Rambo". There's a classic stare where Rambo gives that 1000 yard stare to a Mercenary who wouldnt shut up.
The Mercenary gives it to him right back saying
"Don't try to scare me with that 1000 yard stare mate. I've seen it all before. In Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Pakistan. You can't fool me!"
Classic scene, great flick.

I gotta mention the Ninja/Bonello staredown where Bonello's getting all worked up and screaming and Ninja just calmly smiles at him. Even sweeter with the way the fight turned out!

I agree Jardine's 36 seconds before he was looking up at the ceiling.
