I got 48-47 for Rampage. So, it wasn't even a draw. Hopefully Rampage gets immediate rematch, at least.

He he.You are incredible. There are many people here that scored the fight diffrent and feel that Page should have won it.Some think it should have been a draw.I still think they know that Forest won.
Maybe they like Page or maybe they hate Forest or maybe they like none of them.Still no need to call them names.

That's my fear. You look at this fight and some of the other recent fights like the Machida/Ortiz fight and you can almost see the trend coming - Get in the octagon, stick/move and wait it out. Sure, it's a viable strategy and it does work and it does take skill, but it's also boring. If I wanted to watch that, I'd watch boxing.
I'm not one of those people that just watches it for the blood. I love the submission aspect, the chess game, and the sport in general, but spending 3 minutes of every round dancing around is not entertainment.

I wonder if Juanito wins his protest with the NSAC and they reverse the decision into at least a draw, if we get our points back?
Lol

I don't see anything controversial about this fight or the judges decision. It was a close fight and EVERYBODY should realise in those cases the Judges have to choose a winner. Before the winner was announced I thought Forrest had won the fight (not by much but still a W). I was impressed by Forrest's victory, he did much better than I thought he would.
I don't understand why people are getting upset about his victory? It was the same as when Bisping beat Hammil. That was a close fight which the judges gave to Bisping, if they had given it to Hammil I would have disagreed but accepted it as judging is always going to be subjective.
I wonder if people are going to be dumb enough to be going on about this like they still do with Bisping and say that Forrest lost this fight but corrupt judges gave him the W for Dana?

I think it's when the official scoring came out as to when the real controversy came out. When two judges actually scored round (1) 10-9 for Forrest even though he got dropped.
That smells bad.
As the old saying goes. If it smells bad? Is it just a turd in a bag? Or is it **** in a sandwhich?
It's our job as fans to question it until we find the answer.
That decision just stinks.
A U.D. nonetheless.
Doesent sit well with fans.

you guys are out there... everyone i watched the fight with had 0 problem with the decision... i just saw it again, and NO WAY can you give rampage that decision... i was rooting for page, and almost bet on him, but theres just no way he won that... its really a stretch, and besides rampage and his camp, not many people (aside from FF) are really complaining about it...

Well three writers(Yahoo Sports, MSN Sports, Sherdog) already wrote articles questiong the decision. Again, nobody is debating who won or lost. All the controversy revolves around why 2 judges scored Forrest the winner in rounds where the other judges so overwhelmingly scored it for Jackson. Including the most controversy scoring round 1 - 10-9 for Griffin. A round where he was dropped.
This fight should have been a draw. And Juanito's Protest was well written apparently. He has a ton of experience with Athletic Commissions and scoring, and for writing legit protests.
Should be interesting to see how it plays out. There are legit questions, and IMO those that dont like the questions arent as confident in Forrest being the winner as they lead on

well i can promise you without a doubt no decision will be changed... that opens pandoras box to change ALL decisions... so that wont happen... best thing that can happen is a quick rematch... i could have seen a draw at best for rampage, but theres no way he won the fight... however i see your points

I simply want a rematch
A) To Settle this
B) because it was a helluva fight
C) Because even if Forrest wins again, likely if he wins again it'd be more decisive.
I like FOrrest, I just don't like how his win came down. More for Forrest, not because I'm a Page fan. Having been live to so many events, and seeing the stupid ass **** fans getting all drunk the way they do? Forrest is gonna have to hear that **** everywhere he goes.
"Ahh you didnt really win man, aww you suck"
I hate that for ANY fighter. NOt to mention The UFC LHW champ

Lol no where in that statement does it say this is your opinion that statement reads as if your word is the final say so but alas we can see its not
As for sports writers LOL thats all they are is writers, no different then us right now typing away our opinions.
A writer is giving his opinion as to what he saw but guess what the judges are the only ones that count.
I wish you people would have done this over the matt & bisping fight were it was really needed.
This is a diffintion of a judge: *a person appointed to decide in any competition, contest, or matter at issue; authorized arbiter: the judges of a beauty contest. *
Key words appointed, decide, authorized arbiter.
Now if you need diffintions asl well for those words I would be happy to get them.
Point being they are paid & APPOINTED, to DECIDE or in other words AUTHORIZED ARBITER of these fights and thats that.
Yes things need to be fixed but for you out there that think that page won the fight LMFAO!

In all fairness, I did raise this much havok over Bisping/Hammill.
But also in fairness, that wasn't a title fight.
People act as if Rampage got his ass handed to him. Which is far from the fact.
People act as if Rampage was slow, or indecisive. They act like Forrest was this unstoppable beast in this fight.
Far from the truth.
Forrest BARELY won. Yet, scored a DECISIVE UD. Doesent sit well with many fans.
Forrest won by playing it EXTREMELY safe.
If it were a Machida match, they'd have said what Forrest did was running.
But because it's Forrest, it's different.
TUF newbs take over right now.

A knockdown scores a lot of points, but this isn't boxing. A knockdown isn't the only thing that matters. Forrest was winning that round decisively before the knockdown. I can completely understand why anyone would give Rampage round 1, but i don't see why some people ignore all the damage Forrest did in round 1. Rampage's leg was already jacked up.
And i disagree that Forrest played it extremely safe. If you don't have knockout power then you don't brawl with someone who does. He still engaged much more than Rampage did. Rampage, who is known as a counter-puncher. He played it extremely smart, not safe. If anyone played it safe it was Rampage, who relied on the fact that his power and counter-punching skills would eventually score him the knockout.

nowhere have i read anyone claiming forrest destroyed rampage.
Forrest in my opinion as well as other beat rampage in rd 1 because this isnt boxxing and a knock down isnt a knock out.
In boxxing your not throwing kicks or attempting to take a person down nor are you using muay tai clinchs so your not going to get knocked down as much in a boxxing match but in mma you have all those elements that allows you to be exposed to many open shots hence why gsp got dropped by serra but alas look at what happened in the rematch.
As for being a title fight or not imo it doesnt matter because each fight you fight is about a championship, either to win one or move up a spot towards one.
Machida is way more boring then this match ever was because machida is playing it smart but is also playing it extremely safe as where forrest knew what to do not to lose and still make the fight exciting.
Forrest pushed the pace & yes rampage was slow but he couldnt help that do to the knee damage.
I am not sure if you have had a knee injury before but I tell you what your mobility is taken away alot.

So when exactly was you in title to tell everyone what is boring or not?
I personaly find Forest a lot more boring then Machida.
Machida being boring is not a fact, its just how you see it.
I don`t like Forest cus he puts up a lot of boring fights where he never do a lot of damage. He jabs a lot to score points.
Like the Tito mach was totaly boring after round 1.
Machida is actually allways hurting those he fight.Machida is having a very nice tecnic aswell.

You're right, it's not boxing, but it wasn't just a little knock down. Forrest nearly lost the fight on that. He got the crap knocked out of him and Rampage also jumped on him. If you look at all the action leading up to that, the most a reasonable person could give Forrest is a 9-9 tie.

I agree, but this isn't a matter of Rampage shooting in and taking him down with that type of move, but rather Forrest falling from a hard hit.
I don't really see the controversy over the result of the fight, but rather of the judge's scores. I mean, come on, Silbert scoring the fight 49-46? That's insane.
One other thing worth mentioning...
After the fight, when they talked to Rampage, I felt like he was being sarcastic meaning, "Yeah, Forrest really whooped my ass. See all the damage he did to me?"

First all my post are opinions & I have stated this before considering I am not a judge nor a fighter in the mma.
As for machida I still say he is a boring fighter but he is a good fighter hence why he is undefeated.
Now you made a statement about when exactly did I becoming in titled to tell everyone what is boring or not yet your next sentence states you dont like forrest because blah blah blah blah so you just did the same crap except for the fact that i dont dislike machida & I think he fights like forrest with his mind instead of pure brute force.
So before you speak about this & that mayhap you should reword what you yourself type

Did rampage have the ability to drop forrest again in the next 4 rounds? no so the point being rampage got a shot in and from there did nothing not even while in control on the top.
Anyone can land a shot and drop someone if thats all thier doing like rampage but he did not have the ability to finish him and forrest even got back up & performed even more damage to the leg.
I wish people would watch the fight again because how often does rampage back off an exchange? watch the fight there is several times forrest sent rampage backwards as well as the time when rampage almost slipped when he back peddaled to the fence.
Forrest may not have knocked rampage down but he surprised him several times in the exchanges.
Your the only person my friend that I have seen that posted he felt as though rampage was being sarcastic. Rampage didn't change his toon until after his trainer talked to him and in the locker room when they ask if you wanted a rematch real fast the man was dazed and undecided until his trainer answered for him & even then he was hesitating to reply.
Forrest won & even if the scores were a little different he still won.
We are not judges so theres no point to argue the outcome we are not the professionals.
The bisping fight was the biggest load of crap I have ever seen and I am not seeing 1/2 the arguments there as I am seeing over this fight.
