And if Forrest beats Tito in March/April, he will probably be getting a title shot soon as well.

Tito defended the title in the UFC on multiple occasions and has won his last couple fights. He shouldn't have to start at Sam Hogar and work his way through 10 fights before getting a title shot. If he beats Forrest Griffin and Ken Shamrock, that's more than enough as far as I'm concerned.

The LHW division isn't very deep if you ask me. If this was the Pride HW or MW division, I could see your point. There are a ton of guys that would get a shot before Tito in those divisions. But honestly, Babalu is the only guy more deserving than Tito, especially once Tito beats Forrest and Shamrock.

Honestly, name a guy who is more deserving than Tito, besides Babalu. And Silva doesn't count because he is HW right now and will probably stay HW.

Guys like Sinosic, Hogar, Bonnar, Van Arsdale, etc. don't deserve the shot any more than Tito does. They have all either lost recently or haven't fought anyone very worthy. The LHW division just isn't very strong after Chuck-Randy-Babalu.

Honestly, Forest, at the moment deserves a title shot more than Tito. That's why they are fighting. But Tito's last fights have been bad enought that I would say that guys like Sinosic, Hogar, Bonnar, Van Arsdale, etc deserve a title shot more than him. Tito has been less than impressive in his last outings and then he has taken a year off. No at the moment Tito isn't even close to deserving a title shot.

Well like I said before he should have to go through what Chuck did to get a title shot. I'd say bring in some outside fighters and put them in front of Tito just for the hell of it. I'm saying that he doesn't deserve one before Babalu. I wouldn't even be surprised if Babalu gets screwed out of a shot since Tito is so much more "marketable" It doesn't matter what I think really because I don't make the decisions. He doesn't deserve a shot after Forrest and Ken but that doesn't mean he won't get one.

I honestly doubt Anderson will stay at HW. I hope he does for sure. But wouldn't be surprised if he did. If he does he will be in title contention for sure. Hell I'm not even convinced that Tim will beat him. The only thing Tim has on him is size. It could go either way. But that's a whole different topic. Sorry for sidetracking on this topic. It will come up next month for sure.

That's probably the silliest post I've seen from you while I've been here. Those guys don't even come close to deserving a title shot more than Tito if he beats Griffin and Shamrock in his next two fights.

You have to remember, every post I've posted in this thread mentions that Tito should only get a title shot if he beats Griffin and Shamrock in his next two fights. I'm not saying to crown him #1 contender right this moment.

Sinosic, Van Arsdale, Hogar, Bonnar? Heh, get real man.

Tito's win might have been controversial against Vitor, but it was Vitor. From what I recall, Vitor is definitely no slouch.

I'm pretty sure most people just hate Tito as a person, and they are placing their opinions based off that. That's not the right thing to do.

As I've already stated, Babalu definitely deserves a shot first. But that can easily be done before Tito will get a shot. Tito's 3rd fight won't happen until very late next year or early in 2007. I would imagine Babalu could fight the Randy/Chuck winner in August or October. Everything would work out just fine for that.

Who is Anderson? Do you mean Ausserio Silva? That's who Tim is fighting next month from what I have seen. I don't know enough about either Silvas to make a determination about them. But Tito would deserve a shot just as much, if not more, than either Silva. He is a proven UFC veteran and will have a couple more fights under his belt by the time he gets a title shot.

once again i agree thrash, seems like people give tito a hard time and say he doesnt deserve anything just because they dont like him.... in all reality after those 2 wins he will deserve a shot and it wont interfere with babalu at all....
i guess thats the end of it

My bad. I did mean Assuerio. I was listening to Beatdown on the Sherdog radio show right before I posted that and they were talking about Anderson Silva at Cage Rage. Sorry about that.

I do agree though. I guess it came across as I don't think Tito will ever get a shot at the title. I am sure that he will. So I don't disagree with you. I think the main reason for my comments is just out of spite. I know that the UFC won't do to Tito what I suggest, even though that is what he pulled on Chuck. I'm just saying that after what Chuck had to go through to finally get his shot after all the BS Tito did. It's only right to return the favor. I wouldn't be all that upset if he did fight whoever the champ is eventually because deep down there still is a part of me that still likes him. He made a fan out of me back in the day just not these days.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying a little better now.

Like I've stated before, I really just started getting into the MMA world, so my opinions on Tito are different than most people. Maybe a year from now, I will hate him just as much as most people do. But for now, I think he is great for the UFC, and in all reality, he is a pretty damn good fighter too. He may not be as good as Chuck or Randy, but then again, he might be better nowadays. We will all have to wait and see how he performs against Forrest. He might get KOed in the first or second round, and he might just take it to the ground and dominate for three rounds. The latter is what I'm predicting, but you never know.

You might recall that I said at the moment they deserve a shot more than him. Tito hasn't earned it yet. Like I said he hasn't been active in a year. You don't just show back up after taking some time off to go be a professional wrestler and get a title shot. Even the fact that the UFC promised him one is a little disturbing.

It may just be because of my feelings about that match with Vitor but I think that Tito will have to be very impressive against Forest and Ken to really make me feel like he should get a shot. It will take more than just a couple of wins to make up for his last 4 fights.

I don't have a problem giving Tito a shot at the title as long as he gets through Forrest and Ken. (Which might be a problem). With that in mind I think don't think Tito will be able to hang with Chuck, Randy, or Renato. The LHW division is not incredibly deep right now so I guess I would stick Tito in the 4th or 5th spot right now in that division.

The fight almost leads me to believe that the UFC was trying to pust Tito back into title contention because he is a better money maker than Vitor. I was very shocked when the announcers and Eddie Bravo said they gave the first round to Tito. It was close but It was still was Vitor's round. I am not a big Tito fan, but I wasn't a real big Vitor fan at the time either. And I still think that Vitor won that fight.
LOL, everyone here know's I'm a BIG Tito fan! I've tried to aviod topics like this one. But come on Vitor won? Please we will go round by round ....in round 1 Vitor had that one flury and that was it. Other than that Tito controlled the whole round.Tito wins round 1. Round two Vitor is on top and controlling even then Tito finishes off the round strong ...i give round 2 to Vitor ....Round three Tito was tossing Vitor across octagon not even a close round Tito wins...humm which fight did you see?

i agree, i think people just hate tito and dont look at his fights realistically... he obviously beat vitor, especially because at the end of the fight he was so dominent, vitor had so many chances to win but never did anything with it.... i wish vitor was back in the ufc though, he always has great potential... regardless tito obviously won, he knew it at the end of the fight and so did everyone watching it, (including vitor)

I guess when you say "everyone" you aren't including a lot of people who don't agree, especially the one judge who said that Vitor won. Oh well this topic is like beating a dead horse. It's not going to change anything and Tito fans will never be persuaded to look at it differently.

Most people agree on who won rounds two and three. As for round 1 Vitor was more agressive than Tito and dictated the pace while they were standing. He came close to ending the fight twice and he was about even with Tito on grapling for a good part of the round. 3 out of 4 parts of the scoring were Vitors. Yeah Vitor gassed in the second and didn't do well in the third but he had already won the first 2 rounds.

Unlike other contraversal decisions that I can watch over and see how the judges could have scored it that way, this one stays the same every time I watch it. I have seen the first round upwards of 50 times now and still give the round to Vitor and I am almost always the first person to agree with the judges. And when talking about this fight it seems to me that only the Tito fans seem to really think he won. That says something.

are you kidding me? what about vitor? did you see his reaction after that fight? he knew he lost without a doubt before the decision and tito knew he won... it was a close fight but an easy decision

No I am not kidding you. Or anyone else. Read the UFC scoring rules and then watch the first round. The only thing that you could give to Tito was grapling. He dosn't really have good control of Vitor and Agression/effort to finish the fight and Striking were clearly Vitor's.
