Had to open the topic to open the poll. This thread is for voting only however, not for discussion.. the vote is the discussion.

Wow, we're a nation divided once again.
It's unfortunate and fortunate at the same time IMO.

Question.. Are we voting to ban political talk or just to agree not to talk about it ??

Agree not to talk about it. The numbers were pretty close. Personally, I am still going to try to avoid it as much as possible.

I agree Aika, I think one concensus is that all of us agree to disagree.
You guys in Admin were right in the fact that Politics get peoples emotions riled up.
It is Fight Forum after all.
Me?
I think like you it's just best to stay out of the discussion and leave it open to those who want to discuss it.
Except tonight. Again, I couldnt resist.
But I'm gonna not go there anymore. ESP since I'm the minority.
I have too much respect for the majority opinion here.

"Some places in this world are very hard to climb, and people use animals. Each person can only ride one, and each animal might have a different name. The riders go up on the trail in different orders and they discuss their varying opinions about their experiences. They may even have conflicting opinions: One traveler may think the trip thrilling, another may find it terrifying, and a third may find it banal. At the summit all the travelers stand in the same place. Each of them has the same chance to view the same vistas. The donkeys are put to rest and graze; they are not needed anymore We all travel the path (of tao). The donkeys are the various doctrines that each of us embraces. What does it matter which doctrine we embrace as long as it leads us to the summit? Your donkey might be a Zen donkey, mine might be a Tao donkey. There are Christian, Islamic, Jewish, and even Agnostic donkeys. All lead to the same place. Why poke fun at others over the name of their donkey? Aren't you riding one yourself? We should put aside both the donkeys and our interim experiences once we arrive at the summit. Whether we climbed in suffering or joy is immaterial; We are there. All religions have different names for the ways of getting to the holy summit. Once we reach the summit, we no longer need names, and we can experience all things directly." -Deng Ming-Dao

I'm a little disappointed! But I respect the majority. I actually found the discussions very educational. The issues were broken down into laymans terms by the guys who discussed it, and I found it easier to understand than the newspapers and news programmes. Gooner in particular had some fantastic points

I just avoid politics everywhere now. It's sickening. But you may find me making a long rant one day.

really? thats kinda disappointing... even in an off topic section? its a message board, debate and exchanging of information and ideas are kind of the point no?
for those that voted not to talk about it (the minority) isnt it their choice just not to open that thread? and let those who want to discuss various aspects in an election year the right to do so?

this thread is still very vague?? what does it mean? do the people who vote against it not talk about politics and those that do vote for it do?? why would you not be able to? the debates have been very informational?? since more voted to want to talk about it does that mean everyone will? or does that mean some members wont...
any clearification??

Well there is no politic section so i dont see why discussing it in offtopic is such a big deal, tbh i dont really care though :P
GO OBAMA!! ( even though your lips r jacked up )
If Mccain wins we will have him for president maybe 2 years before he dies of old age xD jokes.
But the whitehouse is gonna have to spend millions of dollars on prunes for him, and a custom made rocking chair
