Default Boxer of the year

Who is the boxer of the year in your view?
Lamon Brewster for knocking out Golota in his backyard and Krasniqi in Germany?
Jeff Lacy for defending his title three times against good opposition - all by stoppage?
Jermain Taylor for defeating Bernard Hopkins twice?
Jose Luis Castillo for defeating Corrales in the rematch?

definitley not brewster(knocking out Golota isnt a great accomplishment), i say Pretty boy floyd, for beating gatti in his hometown(even though gatti is not in his prime) then going up to welter weight and beating Sharmba Mitchell in good fashion

Nice choice!
Please remember, though, Brewster had to knock out Krasniqi twice actually due to the looong count.

You can vote for him of course. But even I - who is maybe the biggest Tyson supporter - do not understand how quitting against Kevin McBride can make you "Boxer of the year". I know you are a big fan of Mike yourself, you are entitled to your opinion, which I always truly respect, but ... you know. That was a very sad moment for me, it proved to me he really is an old man for a boxer now.

In my mind there is no way any Heavyweight deserves the Boxer of the Year Title, it was yet another bad year for the division I thought and it aint showing any signs of taking off any time soon i'm affraid.

My vote would go jointly to Floyd Mayweather & Ricky Hatton

I'll go Jermain Taylor for beating Hopkins twice when Bernard was pretty much the accepted P4P champ and defeating an undeated Daniel Edouard as well.

I just watched the Tyson vs Mcbride fight again, he didnt do all that bad being in the situation he is, I wish he could have had more of those explosive moments though

Let us be happy the fight ended the way it did because this loss made Tyson aware of the fact that it is just over for him as a professional boxer. Had he lost to a "great" fighter, he might have decided to continue his career.

What about Hatton? I mean, he completely overwhelmed Tszyu when Kostya was favored, then KO'd Maussa in a unification fight. He deserves some thought. And this is from somone who isn't the biggest fan of his.

KT is "not as good as he once was", hatton did not completley dominate the fight really just kept pressure on him, good fighter but in my opinion not best of the year

I vote for Taylor. As was mentioned, beating the #1 ranked pound for pound champion is no small feat.
