Though the name is deceiving a bit, this new organization is basically a form of kickboxing, so I figure this is the right forum to put it.

Since I know some of our members are based in New England, there is a new event coming to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Chuck Norris' World Combat League is putting on their second show on Jan 21, following their debut in Dallas in October. Its a team vs team concept with some pretty interesting rules. The complete rules are on the website, but one is each fight will be 2 3 minute rounds. What's odd is that the rounds are not consecutive. You fight, sit down. And wait for the second half of the team match to finish the fight! The fight order is determined initially by a coin flip and then alternately by the opposing coaches. Teams consist of 5 men and 2 women. It is full contact with gloves like K1 but it is not in a roped ring, rather its in a circle with a slanted pad outlining the edge and forcing back into the action.

Sure, this is a publicity thing for Chuck Norris. But check out the highlight of the first event on the website under the videos link. Some sick KO's including one of the ladies landing a sweet superman punch for a TKO.

I may just have to take a ride to Mohegan Sun to check this out! LMK what you guys think.
