I don't love him or hate him, but yes he can fight. There is no argument there.

Post Silva

Ok all you hear at fightforum.com is talk about Silva and how he is overated though look at his record in Pride and his is the current champ and the winner of last years Middleweight GP. What more do you want from him to take on the whole division at once and then if he won you'll proabley say do it again. When he wins this GP he'll most likely fight Chuck because he is a Pride member and this is what Chuck wants and it would be a match of matches making Pride alot of money. When he beats Chuck I hope those he think down of him will finally give him his props as a good fighter.

Not in this thread in the Fightforum overall we got alot of Chuck and Vitor fans here and I think Silva can take them both. also I went back and changed my wording so there is no confusion

I think Silva is a hell of a fighter and should be #1 in the world. But, he is by no means the messiah of MMA which people hold him to. He can be beat. That's what I can get acrossed. I think that Belfort could KO him like before, not as badly probably, and I think Chuck or Randy could beat him. He's overated in the way that people say he can't be beaten. That screams overated.

Well of course he can be beaten.. heck he lost the fight before last to Hunt.

Well.. In my view. Chuck has no chance against Silva... First of all.. Silva has a tougher Chin. Mark Hunt, known to be a vicious striker, busted Silva a few times in the jaw.. without Silva going KO. He has an incredible ability to recuperate instantly. Second, Silva can strike and go down.. Chuck is stiff, he relies on this striking abilities. Ramage Jackson went head to head with him, and Chuck didnīt stand a chance.. Look at what Silva did to Jackson.

I think Chuck might get seriously hurt against Silva.. Silva is known to take it to the extra level.. very brutal and vicious. Chuck dosenīt want any of him. Randy Couture might stand a chance based on experience.. but without the Cage helping him, I donīt see him winning. Not at this age.

Vitor knocked out Silva in a matter of seconds.. But that was luck. He caught Silva early, and that was another Silva. He has learned incredibly since then, and is heavier and better. Belfort would also get hurt. Specially since Silva wants to revenge the Octagon loss.

The only person that had a chance with Silva is Hunt. But look how heavy Hunt is.. By the way, I would like to see a rematch. Iīm sure Silva wouldnīt do the same mistakes he did last time. He is a very smart fighter.

The only people I really see giving Silva a hard time, or possibly beating him are for example.. Minotauro, based on Submission, or CroCrop with strikes..

Fedor of course would also beat him.. but these are all other weight classes.

you really think he has a better chin than Chuck? In my opinion Chuck's chin ranks up there with the tops in the game, Cabbage, Rampage, etc. Silva seems to get dropped at least once in almost all his fights. He sees to recover quickly but I wouldn't go as far as to say he has a great chin.

Saying Chuck doesnīt want any of him, is a figure of speech.. Itīs doesnīt mean he personally doesnīt want any of him, it means, he better leave him alone.

The reason why he sometimes seems to get koīed, is because he goes straight into a swing contest. However to say it happens almost in every fight is a bit exaggerated. I have never seen him get dropped by a single shot. He seems to always run into wild swings.. Anyway. being able to recover quickly is proof for his chin.

He has only lost 4 fights.. 2 Decisions, one TKO because of a cut.. and a KO from Vitor..

Yes Chuck has a great chin.. but have you seen Chuck get hit with shots Silva has gotten hit with?

Jackson went toe to toe with Liddell.. and Chuckīs chin gave up.

I didnīt think Silva would finish Jackson off, the way he did. Chuck stood no chance against Jackson. If Chuck wants to test his skills against Wandelai.. then so be it. I am a huge Liddell fan..I would love to see him and Silva go at it.

But as long as they donīt meet, we canīt say anything about it. But i donīt think Chuck can handle him.

I didn't say anything about chuck being able to handle him or not. I just said I think chuck has a better chin.

Chuck took big shots from rampage, vitor, randy, vernon white, mezger, overeem.....and the only guy to really drop him with a punch or kick was mezger and that was more of a flash knockdown. Silva has been dropped by henderson, sakuraba, mezger, vitor, hunt.

I'm not saying one is a better fighter than the other because they are both top notch, but I just think when it comes to chin, chuck has the edge.

Well.. silva got dropped by Henderson, Sakuraba and Metzger.. but he didnīt lose those fights..

Liddell.. lost to Rampage based on strikes.. he lost to Couture on strikes..and to Metzger.. ok he still won, but having a chin is not only withstanding 1 single punch.. itīs actually being able to take allot of punches in a Match, as you can see.. it was not only Metzger who gave Liddell hell in the ring.

Mh.. I see your point...but only a fight between the two will tell who the best is at light heavyweight and who has the better chin.. because both will come out swinging.. I was hoping for a fight between Silva and Couture.. but Liddell took out hopes for that one..lol.. so we will see.. if we can get a Unification match going with Liddell and Silva.
