Chuck Vs. Randy 3
Alright guys, who's going to go home with the title after this one. I personaly think that Chuck will keep it. I really don't think Randy is going to be able to do what he needs to do, to take Chuck down. I really think thats the only chance he has at beating Chuck. But, I just don't see that happening.

I think, with no thumb in the eye, Randy's the man. Tough call - can Chuck sprawl all day against Randy, or of course get the ko again before the take down?
By the way, who has Randy fought since the second meeting? I don't know why I have missed those..

Randy has only faced Van Arsdale since loosing the belt.
Well as most people already could guess I think that Randy will win this one. In the first fight Randy found the weakness in Chucks punching (if you press chuck he will step back and counter but if you beat him to the punch he can't do anything) and used that to win the fight. Chuck changed his striking for the next fight and Randy tried to fight it the same way as the first fight Rather than go for a takedown. Then he catches a thumb (on accident) gets angry, comes in agressive, and gets caught on the chin.
Now in the third fight Randy just has to focues on taking chuck to the ground. He can do it. Or he could just maintain the clinch and dirty box. Either way their is a large advantage for Randy. Once Randy gets him to the ground he just has to stay active. Randy's style is almost meant to fight guys like chuck. I don't think that Chuch has what it takes to keep it standing and as I have said before when Randy has you on your back you have got problems.
Also their is alot going around about Randy's age since he lost to chuck. I don't really see why because he looked as good against Chuck as he didthe first time (carido) and even if he was 20 that punch still would have put him out. And against MVA he still looked alot better than a man of 42 should. No age isn't quite catching up to Randy yet. I would still give the cardio advantage to Randy.
And as for the other arguemt often seen about chuck taking Randy down. Randy has better takedown defense than chuck and as seen from the MVA fight if you try to take him down you will be submitted. Besides chuck should stick with what he dose best. Knocking people out on their feet.
Only way I see chuck winning is if he catches Randy as he comes in for the clinch or the takedown. It will happen either earily in the first or in the second. Other wise Randy will be controling chuck and either GnP him or get a decision.

Never underestimate Chucks sprawl. He has a great one. I think this will be a very good fight and honestly I'm on the shelf about it. If Randy plays it smart and works on controlling chuck he'll have a good shot. If he decides to trade hands he'll go down.

It's not that I understimate Chuck's sprawl. But as I have said before Randy is world class in wrestling. Chuck isn't. And it's not so much the sprawl that will keep him standing. Randy will probably get the takedown from the clinch thats where he is best.

Randy will pull this one out in my opinion. He'll evolve to what it takes to beat Chuck. I have a feeling he's going to adjust, and beat Chuck with his own game, stand up. :O

Bodyguard magazine has good interviews with both these guys about the upcoming fight. i personally like Randy alot, i think he is a great fighter and gives alot to the sport. however i think that unless Randy can take Chuck to the ground Chuck is going to get the KO or win a decision should it go 5 rounds. Randy cannot go toe to toe with a conditioned Chuck Liddell. you can bring up Randy's wrestling all you want but this is not wrestling. from what i understand Chuck spends an incredible amount of time working on takedown defense. it will be a good fight as long as Randy does'nt get KO'd.

Should have known that Chuck can't be mentioned without bringing up his "infamous" thumb.....If Liddell can keep it standing then I think he will get the win. However, if Couture does take it to the ground then.....yeah Chuck's chances are cut, extremely. Either way though, should be an incredible fight and Im looking forward to it.

???? Randy has always been the better conditioned between the two. And he alread went toe to toe with a conditioned Chuck. The longer the fight goes the more it favors Randy. I really really doubt that Chuck will win if he dosn't knock Randy out.

If this fight doesnt end quickly like the last did, I see Randy winning. The longer it goes the more it favors "The Natural". as far as conditioning I agree with Unknown, Randy is the better of the two when it comes to endurance hands down.
I really hope this fight lasts longer then the first (mainly due to wanting randy to win) this is the fight everyone has waited for since the second one ended, I hope its as exciting as we all hope it will be.

I think that Liddell is always ready to go five rounds. I doubt that endurance will be a factor in this match. Liddell went four rounds with Jeremy Horn and looked ready to go five easily. If Liddell stays on his feet, then he will likely win along the same lines as he did with Horn. If Couture can get Liddell off of his feet and on the mat, then Couture should win... I expect Liddell to sprawl a lot!

Yeah but Liddell went 4 round standing. There was very little grapling in that fight. Most fighter could do 10 - 15 rounds of standup like chuck did against Horn. Keeping Randy from taking him down will require alot more energy. I doubt that liddel will have the energy to keep it standing at all by the 5th round.

Excatly! 4 rounds of beating on horns head isnt that hard to do, 4 rounds of being in a clintch with randy is VERY draining.. not to mention if it goes to the ground it will take alot of energy for chuck to get up the way he does.
this is going to be a great fight, I like both guys but I am hoping to for Randy to get his title back.

Let us not forget that Liddell beat Couture in one round (two minutes into that first round) in their second fight. And, it took Couture three and a half rounds to defeat Liddell in their first fight. Some people may be inclined to think that Jeremy Horn is on par with Couture's skills. I think that Horn may even be better than Couture in some ways... But, Couture has a win over Horn -- in a decision ending.
It is entirely possible that Liddell will KO Couture again, and in the first round. I am not sure I want to even bet on this fight... It will be extremely difficult to say who will win. However, I do feel that Liddell will win. I am just not willing to say that with 100% certainty.

Horn and Couture are like apples and oranges. Both good fighters but very different styles. And both fighters faced Liddel in stand-up. If Liddel went in to Horn's guard during one of those time he knocked him down Liddel would have probably been submitted. If Randy had got a takedown instead of comming in like he did liddel probably would have had problems.

I think its going be an exciting fight, It could easily go either way..
I want randy to win but I can't bet against Chuck on this one since he has a KO over him already.
