I have heard of peopel trying to kill people on the street, that why I argue against street fighting. Didn't I just say that boxing isn't perfectly suited for the street either, but you could get a punch in and not get stabbed. If you are grapling with them your getting stabbed. But if someone cuts me I am probably going to grab the nearest weapon using it and get out of there so I don't get stabbed again. And if they keep at it I will seek police help.
As for knockout vs choke out. When you choke someone out you have just turned off the blood flow to the brain, when the blood comes back the lights turn back on. A knockout comes from the brain moving inside of the head and actually causes damage to the brain. Even if they don't go completly lights out they will be in fairy land for some time. (unless it is a flash knock out)
Well as for the Army and others they don't teach alot of bjj, just parts of it. And parts of other martial arts as well as striking (weather boxing or muay thai or whatever) and pressure points. And boxing is of less use when you have a night stick to swing or a gun to fire. The grapling part of the training is incase you get taken down or if you have to subdue a suspect without harming them. There is really no point for non-law enforcement personel to try to be restraining people who have attacked you. Your job is to avoid the situation and get the prober athorities.
And nope never met a boxer who thought he was the best in the world, that incudes myself and everybody in my gym. Only people who thought that were one who just came through the door the first time. They change their attitude real quick.
And as for twisting your words. Nah. To the death means to the death. Can't really twist that too much. I responded to what you said. And if you don't leave regardless of how much you just intend to hurt them a lot of times some body ends up dead anyway. And if they are trying to kill you then you really need to get out of there.
