BJ Penn bet
Welcome to the bank. You currently have 27155 points in the bank, last updated on Today at 01:04 AM. You currently have 21 points in your pocket.
Penn has 3 fights coming up supposedly, GSP, then Hughes, then Franklin. A lot of people on this board seem to doubt Penn and his abilities. Maybe some think he's good, but not great, and some think he's just flat out not impressive.
I'll bet 15K points that Penn beats the next 3 people the UFC puts in front of him. You already know for sure the first one is GSP, but you don't know the other two for sure. That means Penn has to win 3 matches for me to win the bet, but he only has to lose ONE for me to lose the bet.
I'm not sure if people are going to jump on this bet right away, but please, if you bet, don't bet just because you want to try and make some points, do it because you honestly believe Penn doesn't have what it takes. Also, I'm not just going to take the first person who comes along and is willing to go with the bet, I'll take the bet of the person who is the most sure that Penn will a fight.

I think Penn will beat St. Pierre actually, so I'm not betting you. I want Geroges to win because I like him more than BJ, but I think BJ will win.
Believe me, you aren't the only one here that believes in BJ Penn. I learned that the hard way with cash bets on Hughes, Ludwig, and Renzo.

Definitely not taking that bet. I'm with you BJ can and will beat all three if he stays in UFC and gets the oppurtunity to fight them.

he first has to get back into shape. If he fights ace I see it being just like the lyoto fight.

Out of his three opponents I think that GSP will beat him. But I am sorry to say that I will not be around long enough for this bet to go through. Else I would take you up on the offer.

Maybe, wait it out, I'm seeing if anyone pops in this thread and rants about how crazy I must be to think Penn can beat any of them, or something like that, haha. If that doesn't happen, then sure.

Where are you going?
As for Penn, it would be foolish to say he doesn't have the skills to beat all three of those fighters. However I will say this, GSP is a Grade "A" fighter and for BJ to beat him he is going to have to train his arse off and get in better shape. BJ was not very impressive at all in his last fight against Renzo Gracie and he lost his fight before that to Machida (which I admittedly didn't see). If he gets in shape and brings his "A" game he could win all three fights. If the same BJ that fought Renzo shows up he'll loose all three fights.
Oh, and for those of you that don't check the other subforums and are looking for some free MMA this weekend I posted this in the "other MMA" subforum. http://www.fightforum.com/showthread...4319#post34319 Looks like a pretty good card for the WEC. It's live in HD too.

I don't doubt BJ Penn's skills, he's an amazing fighter, but I don't think he can get through GSP, I just don't see that happening, So I'll accept the bet. But I also think that he would not be able to get through Rich neither.

Basic training.
But I think that BJ is an A grade fighter too. I think that GSP is a little better because he has absolutly domminated fighter after fighter. And the saying goes that when BJ is on he is on. But latley BJ hasn't been on. If he dosn't come at 100% against GSP he will loose.

I'm pretty pumped about it.
Penn can win, probably will... but I sure hope he doesn't.
GSP is the man, I have high hopes for him. I'd love to see that belt around his waist.

So it won't be so bad when you lose 15K of it!
