I strongly believe some fights in the UFC are fixed...
I'm a newbie here, so maybe I'm beating a dead horse. However, I've been a fan since the beginning but two more recent fights have made me STRONGLY question the legitimacy of the organization.
My first suspicions came when Frank Shamrock fought Rich Franklin. Shortly before he gets pummled by Franklin and the ref stops the fight, Shamrock falls to the mat. When he falls, he looks like a school girl losing her balance.
What makes me think the fight was fixed, was how Joe Rogan called the fight. Specifically, he speaks as if such a dramatic event has occured, when what it looked like was a very poor acting job. In short, I believe the fight was staged at the end of the first season of the UFC reality show, and they needed some big names to fight, so they staged the fight. Perhaps some weak arguments, but if you watch the fight, you'll see what I mean.
What solidified my belief, was the fight I most recently watched between Jeremy Horn and Chuck Liddel. Horn, who is a grappling specialist, never tries to take Liddel to the mat (as I recall). He simply tries to stand up with him for the entire fight-suicide. Two things during this fight made me VERY suspicious. First, big John Mcarthy very quickly stands Horn up after the several times he is knocked down-leading the poor lamb to the slaughter. Second, again, Joe Rogan is calling the fight as if it's very dramatic. He will often criticise fighters for making stupid mistakes, but he never once criticises Horn for trying to stand up with Liddel.
So, I think we have very questionable events taking place during fights with the announcers dramatizing the events. Also, in the most recent fight I watched, the ref even seems to be acting strangely.
Watch the fights for yourself and see what you think.
