Default UFC ESPN Campaign

I saw this at sherdog but i thought everybody should see this, please do your part to get this more attention by e-mailing ESPN.

I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the coverage the UFC got on http://msn.foxsports.com/ this evening. There were a few good threads about it and I do not intend to start another one. Rather, I'd like to start some sort of e-mail campaign to ESPN for MMA coverage. Fox Sports coverage of UFC is a great victory for MMA fans but there is no bigger sports news organization than ESPN. I took the time to find feedback forms on the ESPN site and I figured we could all bombard them with requests for MMA coverage BOTH on TV and the INTERNET. For those of you who are interested in responding to the challenge here are the links:

Television Coverage-
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/...contact/espntv

Internet Coverage-
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/...ntact/espn.com

My advice is to write one letter, copy and paste it, and submit it on both forms.

Here is what I wrote:

"I am writing to request that ESPN include some Mixed Martial Arts content on its website and television channel. Organizations like the UFC (US based) and PRIDE FC (Japan based) are becoming wildly popular and have yet to gain attention on any of your forums. The stigma of MMA being a barbaric, no-holds-barred type of competition has justly faded over the years. As a matter of fact it is commonly believed and statistacally supported that MMA is safer than boxing, which you provide extensive coverage for. There is no denying that the fanbase of both organizations and MMA in general is becoming large enough to garner some reaction from the largest provider of sporting news in the United States. I respectfully request that ESPN look into covering the most exciting sport in the world. Thank you."

I think that MMA is close to getting the attention it deserves and with a little push from us it will get there a little bit faster. Please feel free to use what I wrote, adding in whatever you feel necessary. Also, use as many e-mail accounts as you can to respond and send the links to friends and family who don't mind helping in this campaign. This will help maximize the number of requests ESPN receives. Thank you.
