Couture in the UFC Hall of Fame
Rogan and Goldy have said on numerous occasions that Couture is a shoe-in for the UFC Hall of Fame. I can't disagree with this, because he's one of my favourite fighters of all time, if not my favourite.
But my question is in multiple parts:
a) Do you agree that Couture should go into the HOF?
b) Should he go in immediately, or should they wait a while?
c) Where do you think the line is for what constitutes a Hall of Famer vs a non-HOF'er? Holding a title twice also means losing it twice. Is it because he was a champ in more than one weight class? Does that mean that Matt Hughes doesn't deserve HOF recognition when he retires because he's only been WW champ? And if Matt deserves to go in for taking a belt and dominating his division, does Chuck Liddell also deserve to go in for the same thing? If one championship makes you HOF material, is it then a matter of wins?
I guess my point is that, for the Hall of Fame to matter, they should be really choosey about who gets in and who doesn't, and I'm wondering what should really decide a fighter's inclusion. I believe that Couture gets in for being champ in two separate divisions. But what does that mean to these guys who haven't accomplished that?
Just trying to spark discussion, yo.

i think Chuck, Randy and Hughes all deserve to make it into the HOF. they've all been a big part of the UFC. i do think they should wait and not do it automatically. i think maybe Randy should be 50 first, same with all other fighters. i am sure the UFC will just throw him in to get ratings but yes, he is very deserving.

Randy should be inducted, but in a few years.

I think Randy should be, and if it's soon thats okay because I don't see Randy ever coming back to the ring. It wouldn't be like with Shamrock where he comes back and gets beat down, and tarnishes his reputation.

I think Randy should be inducted at the next PPV event. They don't need to wait at all in my opinion, he's already a legend.

I think Randy, Matt, and Chuck should be in the HOF. Tito Ortiz deserves to be in, too. He defended that belt 5 times like Matt.

I can't stand Ortiz, but he does have the record and certainly eventually should join the other future HOF'ers.

I think he should be in, but in a few years. Some people might look at his 14-8 record and say he shouldn't be in, but like the 18-11 team that gets an at-large for the NCAA tournament, he had a very tough "Strength of Schedule"!! He fought the best of the best throughtout his career and showed that you can still be on top of your game past 40!! He is in in my book!

Ofcoarse. Coutour is a fine example of hall of fame material. He deserves that spot every bit as much as others, perhaps more so.

I'd definitely put him in right away. I would of had the doors open to it for him right after he was done saying his last goodbyes at 57.

i can think of several reason that randy should be in the ufc hall of fame, however, im hard pressed to come up with reasons that he shouldnt. i think its pretty much a given that he will be inducted, its all a matter of when it will happen now.

Im with him being inducted on the next ppv. Hes a good PR man. It could do lots to have 3 living legends that can still fight at the drop of a hat (and do). Maybe down the road they could do a legends fight night with two HOF's as the main card. I would love to see Shamrock and Couture brawl it out. In my opinion hes already in the HOF.

Hells yeah! Why not? that would be a sweet matchup of jui-jitsu vs. grappling! Why not Gracie vs. Shamrock again? I would pay to see that.
