Default Favorite submission technique

What submission technique is your favorite? I would go with the kimura... man that's painful!

Triangle/arm triangle, inverted heel hook, standing kimura (like Sakuraba, Diaz and Karo), anything with 'flying' in front of it. But since most of those are not that common I would say my favorite is just a regular triangle choke.

I love the triangle, too. One minute you are the man, on top dropping the bombs. All of a sudden you are in a real bad spot, and sleeping quickly thereafter. How can you not love that?

I would have to go with the RNC, or armbar, especially the one Mir put on Sylvia...not for the damage it did, but the fact that Mir was on his back, Tim was standing up and he had to tap while on his feet.

No doubt. One of my favorite triangle moments is Minotauro vs. Semmy where he starts to go for the armbar and Sem slips out of it and Minotauro transitions perfectly into a triangle. It was like poetry in motion my friend. If you haven't seen it check it out.

Another favorite is Riggs coming in on Ivan to drop one of his huge looping bombs and catches that upkick and drops right into the triangle. It was bee-you-tee-full.

The kimura Karo laid on Dave Strasser was killer!!! I think I hit my "rewind" button like 20 times the first time I watched that fight. Dave didnt even see it comin.

I enjoy a stretched out Heel hook (or tendon lock or whatever you want to call it) like Arlovski put on Sylvia last time. Mainly because the other guy usually goes for it too and we see a submission race

Do you mean "flying" knees and such? I have never heard of a flying RNC or any flying submission holds, but I bet that they would be funny to watch, LOL... Just kidding. I know what you meant, but it sounded funny the way that you said it.

There's a flying arm bar which was actually one of the MMA Weekly tip of the weeks with Matt Hughes demonstrating on Tim Sylvia. Looked pretty funny. Basically it's just clinching and trapping the arm and jumping into armbar position while the other person is still standing.

My favorite is the triangle choke!

Or in early pancrase, the heel hooks some of those guys did, especially Shamrock were just sick!

I'll take this over a one punch KO any day.

That is cool. It seemed more like a standing armbar, but I see why it is called a flying armbar. I guess it depends on who is standing when the move is applied. But hey, that dude did get some air...

To see performed = flying armbar
To perform: 1 - Leg Triangle
2 - Arm Triangle
3 - Keylock/Americana/Reverse Figure Four

Are you sure Sylvia tapped? Didn't Herb stop the fight because his arm broke and Sylvia was mad that the match was stopped or am I thinking of a different fight?

Silvia most def did not tap.

great vid Jonny that was sweat...Im pretty sure ive seen Genki Sudo do a flying triangle on a highlight vid.

im a big fan of the triangle/armbar combo, choke and break their arm at the same time.

Sylvia won't tap to a potential career ending finisher but taps to an achilles lock. I don't get that.
