Default Bjj

Hey everyone kinda new here so i was wondering if you guys could help me with a question?

The Question is whether i should quit muay thai for bjj, just before anyone suggests both the only gyms where i live are expensive so i cant do both as im still a kid. My main reasons for wanting too are that i have always been pretty good on the ground (as bad as that sounds) and its kinda by main strength. Ive been doing Muay Thai for a year, so i have developed a small powerbase in it, and i could probably keep my skills that i have learned sharp, but Brazillion JuJitsu seems to have alot more techniques, its on the ground, my favourite fighters are BJJ and Muay thai so im kinda stumped any help on whether i should or not?

Thanks in advance.

It really depends what your after. If your looking to stay in fighting as a sport or if you doing it for more of a self-defense. I have wrestled and I've done some BJJ, I also do Muay Thai. Personally I like to keep a fight standing, whether it be competition or a street fight. Learing some BJJ will benefit you for sure but I would say take a look at where you want to take your career. Doing both would obviously make you a more rounded fighter but I hear you on the expense, doing both is not cheap.

If you're wanting to make a go of it as a sport...then I'd get solid in BJJ, now while you're young. Keep practicing what Muay Thai you know, and then later, when you can afford it, cross train them.
