Yeah I was wondering how that works. Do UFC fighters make money yearly like an ordinary job or do they win money when winning fights? Just curious.

Well i found the payroll for the last ufc and Rich franklin got $16,000 to show and another $16,000 to win. I read chuck made over $200,000 for his last fight.

I read tito bitchin about not makin any money before he came back. Im just wondering how much he is making now that he is back.

the Nevada athletic commision usually releases sallaries for each event a couple of weeks after the event. I'm sure it will be out in the next little bit and someone will post it. I posted what the fighters made for UFC 58 on here and if i can locate the info for 59, ill toss that on here as well.

the ufc is not popular enough to pay out big just yet..football and ufc do not compare at all....if u look at the ratings for TUF and football games...TUf gets around 2..NFL gets a 12 and even higher.....thats why the nfl gets paid so well...with the recent popularity boost of the ufc, it should soon see payouts more similar to pride and hopefully boxing within a few years....basically the only fighters that get paid well are the champs..excepts for rich franklin of course cuz of his bad contract...

usually mmaweekly posts the payout for ufc events..just give it sum time and they should go up soon...

I was wondering about the payouts too, as well as the injury report. Usually someone throws the injury report up here fairly quick, unless I missed it, been traveling a lot lately.

As far as I know CSAC doesn't require this info to be released.

Yes but people do not pay $39.99 to watch a football game. I think I read that UFC59 had 400 000 PPV subscribers. Near 16 million is not chump change IMO. Of course they don't get ALL that but they also had a sold out area, and advertising revenue too I am sure.

You cannot compare MMA to football. The NFL fills stadiums. Not once every few months like PRIDE. The NFL fills sixteen stadiums every week for like 16-18 weeks in the season, and then playoffs. This does not even touch on the money made from TV. Heck, the NFL package is not cheap either. Add in merchandising and advertising and the average NFL player is making out much, much, much better than any MMA fighters...

Also, football, MLB, basketball, and other such big time team sports have unions and minimum salaries. The lowest paid MLB players will walk away with like 250K a season, IIRC. I think football is about the same.

Is there a UFC fighter's union?

UFC 59:
Tito--$200k Tim--$45k Andrei--$90k Diaz--$10k Sherk--$8k Forrest--$16k Tanner--$20k Levins--$5k Cruz--$5k Monson--$5k Karo--$8k Nick--$5k Terrell--$6k S. Smith--$3k T. Martin--$2k Lambert--$4k Alves--$4k Noble--$3k

Total Card Payroll--$439,000 Total Gate--$2,191,450
I found these numbers over at the underground. I'm not sure if they are accurate, but they look consistent with the ones that I've seen in the past.

Tito 200K, Forrest 16K. Thats pathetic. It really is.

Total gate: 2.1 Mil
Total PPV: 16 Mil
Money from Xience and other sponsers probably a Million.

Fighter Payroll: 439K? WTF? I understand there is overhead and all, but thats pretty pathetic. For Tito to make 12.5 times more than Forrest only to go to a split decision.

I am guessing they assume Tito is the draw that made the PPV.

thats ok, the UFC wont be able to pay such small payouts much longer. with the IFL starting its matches soon as well as the smaller organizations growing and the entrance of PFC into the U.S. market, the UFC will have to start paying better in order to keep its fighters happy and fighting for them.

Tito and Chuck are easily the biggest draws for the UFC...

I don't know much about the payment structure for the UFC fighters or benefits if any...contract guys I'm assuming have some sort of deal worked in. The reason I'm commenting is because I'm thinking that some of these payments won't even cover the health-care costs associated with the (potential) injuries sustained and/or long-term effects.

Does anyone know how much PRIDE pays their fighters? I tried looking but could not find anything.

LOL i love it! this same conversation after EVERY ppv... the IFL is 0 competition... very very few people konw what that is outside of the hardcore fans.. the average new fight fan (which comprises most of the profits now a days) has no clue witht eh IFL is... the UFC will be able to keep these fighter salaries then every now and then get new big names like BJpenn or maybe a future rampage... they just got anderson silva... its going fine.. if anyone doesnt like the UFC salaries that much, boycott... go watch the minor leagues aka IFL..
the UFC shouldnt pay those lowgrade guys more then they are because those fighters WANT to be in the ufc... they should be allowed to fight on the side for more $$$.. other then that im happy with how things are going as long as they keep bringing in the BJs and titos

I love it too! Seeing the same response from you defending the ****ty pay! Not sure why that makes you so happy, I think it sucks but oh well what can I do about it? I'm not going to say "I love it" or try and make it sound like it's good for the fighters. The way the IFL is setup if it succeeds it will be very good for all fighters. Not just the BJ's and Tito's.
