Default Sylvia vs Buentello

I think this would be a great fight and i would rather see Buentello get another chance compared to Monson or Cruz. By the way i think Buentello would take out sylvia. Here are some HW matches that i would like to see.

Vera vs AA
Beuntello vs Sylvia
Mir vs Cruz (this time the old Mir shows up)
Monson vs Silva

I don't think he deserves a shot against the champ after the last defeat.

I think him and Arlovski should have a rematch. The winner(Arlovski) should then get a shot at big Tim.

Mir is no longer a contender which is too bad. i agree that Tim vs. Paul has the makings of an awesome slugfest. however i am thinking that Jeff Monson has the makings of the next UFC HW champion if he can take any opponent to the ground. He beat Cruz and not many gave him much of a chance. Monson vs. Sylvia could be over quick if Jeff does'nt get the takedown and gets KO'd but as far as i know he has never been KO'd. on the other hand if Jeff gets Tim down it could be over just as fast. and Yes, of course AA gets a rematch first and foremost.

really! i expected u to be paul all the way... i think if he wins one more he can go for another shot... monsoon is such a boring fighter... i fell asleep his last fight.. how about him vs AA with the winner getting the shot... i also think you have to give mir more chances... he lost that ONE fight and before that he was the champ!

Alot of people look at Monson's fight with Cruz to say if Cruz was able to keep him back with his reach being a sub par striker than Tim will KO him but Monson said several times he didn't want to take Cruz down because thier grappling skills almost cancel each other out. I think Monson is the perfect guy for AA or Big Tim to take them down and submit them or pound them out. He barely has to change levels to get at Tims legs. I think it would be a very interesting fight.

There has to be AA vs. Sylvia 3. It's the only way to prove who really is the better fighter.

Well thats what I was getting at. Monson only stood with Cruz because he respected his ground game. Monson wouldn't stand with Tim at all but go for the takedown the whole time and I think Monson is built and has the skills to do that.

yup thats true too... i couldnt picture him and tim on the ground that much...
monsoon vs AA may be different tho because arlovski is very good on the ground too, and so athletic where he could get up...
tim would have to stall it out to get them standing up again.... But still, monsoon hasnt done enough(beat pe de pano and hinkle) and thats it.... id like to see him beat a bigger name first

Cool

Sylvia-Monson sounds okay to me. I don't think they will do the robber match with AA until later this year. I think that Sylvia ought to get at least one title defense between now and his AA rematch. It would be awesome if a revived Mir could make an impact, but I do not expect that within the next year.

The rubber match will be at UFC 61 on July 8th in Vegas. It's funny, I think Arlovski, Sylvia and Buentello all have suspect chins. They are big boys that hit hard. Sylvia might have the best chin of the three, considering how he recovered in his last fight.

Even if Tim loses in July I think he'll still be in the mix because of the lack of depth in the HW division. Then we might see Sylvia fight Buentello.

i am a huge fan of Paul but have followed Monson's career as well. he is an amazing grappler, very very strong. not exciting but he is good at what he does. if anything i want to see Paul vs. Tim and maybe AA vs. Monson.

If that Mir/Paul fight happens... that'd be interesting as hell. Either a sub by mir or a ko by paul, i'd love to watch that one. I hope it does come about.
As it was said here, Mir has 1 loss(although horrible) and before that he was champ! And besides getting hammered by the machine, we all know how good he can be.
