Default Tanner out of UFC 60

It looks like Chael Sonnen will be taking on Jeremy Horn instead of Even Tanner. Tanner is going through some personal issues it seems and has pulled out. Heres the link for the entire article:

Man, this sucks. I was looking forward to seeing Tanner / Horn go at it. That would have been one of the best fights in a while i believe. What do you guys think?

DAMNIT! First Horn drops out at 59 now this. I wanna see this fight.
It really sucks about Tanner though, I hope he gets through it -- soon. He's my man, I long to see him with that MW title again. He looked grrrrreat at 59 too. Oh well,
Cant wait to see ya back, ET.

This is his myspace -- have you guys seen it? In particular, read the last couple of entries on his blog. Evan is absolutely one of my favourite fighters, and I thought his move to Chute Boxe USA and his big flashy win meant that we were going to see him really get his s**t together for a championship run. But this sounds like a troubled man:

Man...you're right, he has some issues and problems he needs to fix. It doesn't sound like he's doing too well.

first off i thought he had a great webpage, a very legitiment person which is obvious just from hearing him speak... while he may have issues which he obviously does i didnt see anything specific on there like everyones implying.... just sounded like he needed to figure things out, or maybe even more time to prepare for someone as seasoned as horn... either way im sure he will be back soon.

This sucks. Tanner sounds like he's got some problems. I know everyone does but gambling addiction and alcoholism isn't something to be taken lightly. I am not saying he is an alcoholic but judging from his myspace post it sounds like he and the cold one have more than an occasional get together.

It also kind of implies he has no team again, doesn't it? I wonder if he's already done with Chute Boxe USA. Too bad, if that's the case, because it seemed like he was really on the right track in that last fight.

You sure about that? Sounds like Evan was pretty specific. Read this and tell me if he just needs to figure things out or if he sounds like he has a problem.

"Spent the last three days gambling here in Vegas. Blackjack. Lost $1000 the first two days. Yesterday I was there early. Beer for breakfast at the Blackjack table at 8:30 am. Lost another $1000. Felt like a real dumbass. I'm not a high roller. Need every cent I have. Always trying to make that house payment. Took a break for lunch after continual hands and many beers. The cocktail waitress was getting worn out I think. She tells me she'll just start bringing two every round."

This is killing me. I've been dying to see Tanner vs Horn ever since they announced the first one.

Same here, I think this will be one hell of a fight. Neither of them has any shortage of heart. I think we would see someone choked unconcious or both of them just beating each other silly....

I think it would be one of the most well thought out, technical matches ever. I think Horn would win by TKO on the feet (i.e. Rich Franklin) or submission off his back.

I think what you're missing is we're talking about a professional fighter who's trying to mount a comeback and who was supposed to be in training to fight Jeremy Horn in the UFC. The fact that the casinos are full of guys boozing at the blackjack tables at 8 am means nothing -- it's all about the context.

i understand your point sit, but theres nothing that even says that was the problem... i really dont think it is, tanner is always in nearly perfect shape... the fights he loses is because he doesnt have the ammo to beat a guy like franklin, not because hes not in shape... it could be a family, friend, other type of problem...
chuck parties a ton, ive heard reports of lots of fighters doing stuff like that... its just something he talked about on his myspace page just to say it sucked... i really dont think that was a big deal...
however id love to see tanner\horn.. that would be alot better then sonnen\horn... and i think the winner would really move toward the top of the MWs... so i hope it happens soon, im not routing against it by any means

The main part I was talking about is "Need every cent I have" right after he talked about blowing 2 grand. And is heavy drinking something to be doing this close to fight time? It isn't like he said I had a couple. I don't know that just doesn't sound like something that is no big deal to me.
