TUF - Season 3 - Episode 9
This should be a good episode I think. Matt should finish Mike unless Matt gets hit and buckles mentally.

yeah I just worry about Matt's stand up. If Tito is so high on this guy though he must have good stand up as well, I don't think Tito would brag on a guy who only has wrestling, so I'll take Matt over Mike tonight.

I want Matt to win, only so Mike Bisping gets the satisfaction later on of pounding him to within an inch of his life and making him cry.

From what I've seen, Matt is the tough and wimpy guy in one package. Tough in training when he has his way... complains when it doesn't. If he reacts like he did the first time he gets hit, advantage opponent. Otherwise, I think Matt will definitely win.

Matt dominated Mike... standing up!

That was a pretty awesome fight, although sluggish at times. Matt was impressive enough on his feet, but I'm worried that he doesn't have much of a submission defense... there were a few times a better fighter would have capatilized on Matt's mistakes I think. All in all, glad to see Matt move on.

That was the most FRUSTRATING fight I've ever watched! Mike went in psychologically whipped. He convinced himself for days that Matt is such a monster ("a wild bear", etc) that he didn't give himself much chance of winning, regardless of what he said in the interview portions. So he went in and threw a bunch of sloppy punches with ZERO game plan. Shamrock had it right through the entire fight -- KICK HIM! USE YOUR KNEES!
If, as Mike said, he's improved his game immensely through being on the show and he went into this fight in the best shape of his life, I'd hate to see what he was like before this. He was scared, he fought a stupid fight, and he gassed early. Go home. He's supposed to have BJJ skills? Then how come he got Matt's leg and seemed to have no idea what to do with it?

Damn Matt has a lot of rough edges. Needs a lot more work than I thought. Michael has to be the LHW favorite right now.

I'll have to agree, Mike looked like Tait did standing up; his striking definitely left something to be desired. I don't know if he just simply didn't expect Matt to stand up like he did and throw bombs like he did, but whatever the reason, he looked lost in there and didn't fight his game. Mike made a couple of lame attempts to take him down, but he wasn't doing very well at all.
I agree with Dana as well that there were parts in this fight where things were very sloppy. They were both very, very gassed and it showed in the fight. I think it'll turn out that Matt is suffering from dehydration... worst case scenario afteraffects from the mild concussion he got in training.

Dana hit it on the nose when he said it was sloopy. Sloopy is an understatment, he better fuel up those tanks a bit more for the 3 round fights. I'll bet Matt comes back from the hospital just fine. Mike looked tired after the first 30 seconds of the fight. I think he wanted the fight to be stopped a few different times. He definetly didn't bring his (A) game. After seeing the fight, I really don't think Matt is going to win this thing. I doubt he will try to stand with the other guys if his arm is better. But he got pretty worn pretty quick when Mike finally started landed shots on him.

Mike--- Sheesh did shamrock make his team picks on guys, based solely on how many tattoos they had?? Glad to see Matt kick tattoo boy's ass!
Mike's stand-up offensive&defensive was just PATHETIC, and he tottally got owned in that area punch after punch. I thought it was funny several times it seemed like mike was trying to run away and put distance between them, but everytime Matt just chased his ass down and resumed the ass whoopin'!
And when it came to the ground game, Matt just tottally man handled that fancy boy. The aftermath of this match just goes to show how tough Matt is, even feeling like crap and having to going to the hospital after, he still pulled it out long enough to destroy one of shammy's tattoo men.
I hope he sticks around.

No way!!!
Hemell can not handle Bisping. What a horrible fight. I can not believe that he has been priased so much. He is strong and has will power, but he has a LOOONNNG way to go before he will be a contender. He shouldn't even fight out side this competition until he gets like 3 months of MMA training.
Thats just what I think

I've seen better, tighter, harder fights between schoolyard kids on the internet. I thought Matt was supposed to be a monster. I thought Mike was supposed to be a warrior. They were just lowering their heads and flailing their arms about.

Yeah mike was fighting like a street fighter just like he said he used to be. Sloppy.
It seemed to me that Matt had a tough time standing, and he knew his arm would effect his ground game so he wanted to keep it standing. And I saw a aweful lot of jabs, which makes me believe that his arm braught his game down quite a bit, and we didn't get to see all he has.

Hey, hurt arm or not, Matt still took care of buisness where the stand-up is concerned. Mike got a royal ass kicking tonight. No matter what he did matt just kept on scoring hit after hit after hit, and you could tell with every smack that mike's feelings of dispair was growing. He simply had no answer to Matt when he would rush in with those punches.
I wonder if mike will get to come back in some form such as UFN. I don't think he should, the dude is a perfect example of a guy who "Looks tough", but when put in the ring he can't back it up. And we wonder how the hell someone like mike got on the show at all.
His stand up sucked, his ground game sucked, his tattoos sucked, etc. He should not have even been on the show and should go back to streetfighting with the rest of the unskilled cretins out there.

Well this sure was a ..would you call it a fight?? not sure what that was but anyway matt advanced. i knew he would make it to the semi's butt i don't think hes gonna go any father unless he fights jesse whose skills didn't seem to be that good. but kalabe... i think hes a light heavy.. and Mike B will crush him i don't think they will gas as easy and they will proably capatalize on matts mistakes.

Dont get me wrong because I am not one to talk trash about another fighter and its them not me in the ring. But does everybody agree this season that pretty much every fighter is out of shape as far as cardio goes? It seems like if the fight goes past 1:30 in the first round their gas tank just goes to empty and all their skills get really sloppy. I mean matt was rocked and Ken was yelling at mike to throw a high kick or a round house the whole second round and mike was just trying to stand up with matt and even that mike would just fall down to his back.

He was trying to stand with Matt, but he was doing it by closing his eyes, bowing his head, and throwing a bunch of weak, sloppy punches out front. No footwork, no head movement, no weight behind the punches. Mike claims to be a veteran streetfighter, but it's time to learn how to box.
