Nick Diaz may be on TUF 4
Its rumored on mmaweekly's site that Diaz will be a contestant on the upcoming TUF 4 show for welterweight. I enjoy seeing him fight, win or lose, because the fights are usually entertaining but I was a bit shocked to see that he may be on TUF 4. After thinking about it for a bit, I guess its not that far of a stretch since he has lost his last three bouts in a row. heres the linke if anyone wants to read it. It lists the other rumored contestants as well. One is Keith Hackney, who faught in one of the first UFC's way back when and is 48 yrs old now.

Yeah Diaz is definately in a slump. I thought after he beat Lawler that he was on his way to the top. Then he lost the split decision to Karo which is understandable and then 2 more wins again Ficket and Oshi I thought again he was still clicking on all cylinders. But those 3 loses were pretty deflating. Granted, Sherk, Sanchez, and Riggs are no slouches but he needs to win at least one or two of those fights to keep his ranking as a top MW. He's got a lot of work to do to get back up the ranking.

Is that allowed? Only people that have never fought in the UFC should participate...

Season 4 is called "The Comeback", and it's all guys who are UFC veterans who never became champs. Instead of fighting for a contract, each weight class is fighting for a one-time six figure cash prize and a guaranteed title shot. Then for season five I imagine they'll go back to the regular format, hopefully with LIGHTWEIGHTS!

Agreed. I want to see a return of the Lightweight division. It would be great if Lightweights were featured on one of the future Ultimate Fighter seasons. As for Nick Diaz in TUF4, that would be interesting.

"keep his ranking as a top MW"
LOL, he lost that ranking a LONG time ago, assuming he EVER even had it to begin with.
"wow i got that lucky haymaker against robbie, i'm a top MW now." Suuuuure...

Before Nick's losing streak MMA weekly had him ranked as the #6 WW in the world.
If Nick would've won 2 out of the 3 fights that he lost he would've retained that ranking. Or at least stayed in the top 10. He's no where near it now. But at one time he was.

Hence his involvement in TUF4: The Comeback. 'Cause the brother needs to come back.

Dude if that's true, first off, I think that's an amazing spin to put on the show and would definitely add to the fighters popularity which is good for the sport overall.
But mostly, I just think it would be cool to see those who have paid their dues and been in the ring and are trying to shake off the rust through the show. I think that with respect to popularity (usually the most popular with the fans gets to continue fighting after losses) it will show us the fighters in a more humanizing light...not so much the one dimensional impression we have (i.e. Nick Diaz being a bad ass trash talker, he might have feelings too lol).
Once again, great idea, go Dana!

"If" he would have won. This sport doesn't care about ifs or almosts or even the final score on the card, a win's a win, and a loss is a loss...some a closer than others, but the bottom line is Diaz needs to get his sh!t together, stop trying to pose as a striker and take it to the ground.
Granted if he wants to be champion he should improve his stand up, but after seeing him with Sean Sherk, I was very very disappointed and unimpressed. The guy's arms are longer than his body and still couldn't beat up on mini Sherk who has the shortest reach.

I personally would like to see Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz share the house, and both be on the show.

i wonder how the sharing of the house will go.. if they are even going to do that... either it would be explosive, or kinda boring because they are all already professionals...
i cant see how they would have lightweights with all the guys that are gonna be on the show... none were fighting as lightweights really...

Hopefully the fights will be a little better by using experienced fighters. The fights in season 3 have been way better than season 2 but still kinda suck compared to the ppv shows.
GSP will be an AWESOME coach! I hope that rumor is true.

It's not lightweights. I believe it's welterweights and middleweights. I was just talking about lightweights as a possibility for TUF5.

It's true that he's on the show. Him, Couture, and a guy named Mark... Delagratti? That's not how you spell it (he's a muay thai dude). But they aren't coaches this time since the cast are all veteran fighters. They're calling them "advisors."

I think in general the concept will make for a good show. We should hear a lot of war stories, there'll be clashes between some big egos, and the fights should be pretty good. And Hackney stands no chance of winning, but it'll at least be interesting to see him in there. For one episode.

TUF 5 for lightweights would be a great idea to really get that division going... they do have something happening there..

So at the end of the season, whoever wins the WW and MW devisions will get an automatic title shot as their next fight in the ufc? That's going to be one hell of an incentive to perform at their very best and a nice spin to keep the show fun to watch.
