Team Gracie vs. Team Japan
Team Gracie vs. Team Japan on the Bushido Vol. 1 disc is an awesome series of fights. i just bought it the other day and i was blown away by the striking ability of some of the Gracie family members, Ralph Gracie was most aggressive with strikes....and i always thought a Gracie could'nt hit thier way out if a wet paper bag. goes to show the most successful family in MMA is'nt afraid to go beyond BJJ.

When I see BJJ as someone displine I used to think good on the ground but after see like everyone in the past 4 pride events that used BJJ knew Muay Thai as well so now when I see BJJ I know they know ground fighting and Muay Thai

Rickson is without doubt the best Gracie, and an all-time great of the MMA.

Nah Ill give it to ROYCE, for the fact that this dude had to fight 3 guys a night in the early UFC days with each opponent weighing 85LBS OR MORE...

Rickson fought three guys a night on regular basis in Vale Tudo and some of them outweighed him by 50 pounds.
Nobody denies the fact the Rickson is the best fighter in the family. Helio will tell you personally that Rickson is the best, as he has done time and time again.

Rickson may be the best Gracie in terms of skills but Royce definately gets my vote for the Gracie that did the most for MMA in the USA. can you imagine what might have been had Royce never entered the first UFC? things could be very differant than the are.

Yes Royce did alot of work in the U.S. to promote Gracie Ju-Jutsu. What people donīt know is, the UFC was made to promote Gracie Ju-Jutsu, to show how superior their style is. The family draw up the plans for it, and Art Davis and SEG made it possible. Royce was chosen to fight, Rickson was busy beating people up in Japan. The share holder for the Gracies was Rorion Gracie, he and Art sold their shares after UFC 5. The reason was SEG īs Bob Meyrowitz wanted judges and more rules. So Rorion pulled out and Royce of course too.
When it comes to spreading MMA, I give Helio Gracie, the most respect. His fights are legendary, and he taught his sons everything they know.
