Tim Sylvia vs. The pride heavyweights

Tim Sylvia recently stated he can compete and beat the top heavyweights from the Pride FC. I think it is ridiculous how out of all people, he is stating that he can beat people like Cro Crop and even FEDOR???!! (WTF) Ok slyvia, please. With you un-coordinated figthing style and limited fighting stlye, and your kicks that travel as fast as a snail. The thing about the pride heavyweights, is that they are flat out better. Your a lucky man that none of them are in the weak heavyweight division of UFC, (with the acception of monson and arlovski when hes smart). You have no ground game and your slow. ITs funny how slyvia mentioned cro crops kicks wont reach slyvia becasue he is tall!!!! wtf slyvia, he will kick you in a blink of an eye as your body falls to the mat and causes an earthquake. I hope fedor comes down to UFC for a fight like you wanted, so you can get knocked out or submitted in the 1st minute. Sylvia is not a maine-iac, he is a slow fighter with no ground game and will get his arm popped again when he fights monson.

You know, I may be mistaken, and piss alot of people by saying this but Tim Sylvia is a bum. He got a lucky against Arlovski, and come one.... Frank Mir broke his arm to win the title in what 50 seconds, yes i realize that Mir is still recovering,.... come on now.... This guy seriously thinks he can stand a chance against Fedor.... Is he crazy ?

Really i doubt that Sylvia could even beat an out of shape, on the comeback trail Mir, let along a monster like Fedor....

An injury is the only reason that i think (and i know i'm not alone here) that he even won his last fight.

Heard this same dabbling crab when everyone thought AA would beat him again. He talked smack and backed it up, I would like to see him do it again.

Arlovski is a good fighter but not even good enuff to stand in a ring with fedor or cro crop. Not much was said with a sylvia win, just ruined arlovskis repuatation.

A.A fights stupid,He is obviously better than Sylvia i mean standing to ground he is better.Physicly he is better,I dont know what is wrong with A.A but i do know Sylvia is a bum with very limited skill.

Honestly he is talking BS to a champion like Fedor....Sylvia your not on Steroids anymore you will lose.

AA allowed sylvia to fight the fight that he wanted to and that's why big tim took it home, of course AA can beat sylvia he just didn't fight smart and was too causious of the big punch, i hope that some of teh pride/ ufc fights happen it will finally settle some arguments.. well with some of the folks here they would just say that there was some outside factor that was determining matches.

lets face it folks even if it is fixed we will not find out for years so why have all these theroies? why not just sit back and enjoy the marvel that is MMA

I don't like Sylvia's bravado, but I think calling him a bum is not warranted. He's the UFC HW champ for a reason, and he will be until someone beats him in the Octagon, no matter how many people think Arlovski is the better fighter.

If you recall, it's not only Tim who said he would beat Fedor. Dana White said that Sylvia "would own Fedor". Trash talk from a fighter is one thing, but White has the power to arrange this fight. Now that he's shot his mouth off about it, he should make it happen, otherwise he's all mouth no action.

OT: Reminds me of a funny line by a friend of mine. He got into a street fight, When I asked him what happened. He said: The guy wanted to play "Oh Yeah?.... Yeah!", so I decked him.

Excuse me bomber, but can u give me an article or website that states when dana white said SLVIA WOULD OWN FEDOR?WTF!! that is complete BS. and dana white is a smart guy and knows a good deal about fighting and i cannot believe he would ever state that syvlia would own fedor. I dont know if you know much about fedor, but if you are somone that knows MMA and watches other fights other then UFC like pride, you would know fedor is the man. He is probably one of a kind fighter in the world and will never be even close to being duplicated. HE is the best fighter in the world and always will be. Bomber i dont know if you watch pride fighting, or your a big tim sylvia fan, but c'mon. Any MMA fan knows fedor can beat anybody, especially sylvia.

That reason is the overall lack of depth and talent in the HW division.

You're right. Of course, it's a weak division. I can't wait to see Sylvia lose the belt. But he's beaten everyone they put against him for a long time. That's the reality. He's not a great fighter, but he's not a bum.

Now it remains to be seen how long he can keep the belt. Not that Monson is that great a fighter either, but he won't make the mistake others are making in trying to stand up with Tim. I like Vera's chances in HW too.

I htink monson will take the fight to the groung agaisnt sylvia. Monson is a great wrestler winning the abudhabi world champion 2 times. Sylvias weak ground game will be taken advantage of, and ill predict a RNC or an arm bar. monson wins

I'm no Sylvia fan, in fact quite the opposite. I'm not sure why you think I said that Sylvia could beat Fedor, you must have misread something.

Let me be very clear, I don't think Sylvia could win against Fedor, Big Nog would wreck him, and I'm more than interested in watching any fight where Sylvia gets beat on.

I am just about sick of people backin tim sylvia saying he can beat pride heavyweights. He cant, it is the fact of life. he cannot beat cro crop, fedor, or noguira and never will. noguira and cro crop actually were able to slightly hang in the match with fedor while fedor pummeled both of them. Cro crop is a great striker and would dominate sylvia. Sylvia cannot beat any of the top pride heavyweights, and is bound to lose his ufc title.

Guys, in an MMA fight anything can happen. It is possible that Sylvia knocks out some pride fighters. And its very possible for the opposite to happen. But dont call a guy a bum for doing his best and believing in himself.

Fedor would probably win but cro crop could not get close enough to do any damage.Example Klitchko vs Peter.Also Ortiz beat Wandy who had a draw with Cro Crop so dont think these Pride fighters are God. USA All the way!
