Koshchek vs Sanchez for title shot
The title gives u the idea on what the thread is about. Koshchek vs Sanchez, winner gets a title shot. What do u think about it. I like it myself.

Koscheck needs to beat a higher-calibre opponent first. Let him fight someone on Karo's level, and if he wins, we'll talk.

For Diego to fight Kos at this point is a pretty big steap backwards. He needs to face people that are between him and the title shot and Kos isnt one of them.

right on the head right here. the only figther that comes to mind thats left for Diego to fight at this point is BJ Penn. its title or Penn. unless you have Diego fight the runner up of the TUF 4. thats another possiblilty and one of the only ways i dont see Diego getting a title shot

definitely, GSP or BJ Penn are the only logical match-ups for sanchez now. IMO BJ, that would be an awesome fight.

When's that UFN that's supposed to be headlined by Ortiz-Shamrock III? Because that's the one that BJ's also supposed to fight on, right? Have they identified a possible opponent? And is it far enough away that Penn vs Sanchez could feasibly happen on it?
Because damn.

what happened to burkeman vs. sanchez? I think that would be another really good match as they both bring it.

Diego fighting Burkman would be just like him fighting Kos, a step backwards. Diego should either face Penn or GSP next. Since GSP is up for a title shot, then I would love to see Penn and Diego get it on. The winner could fight the loser of GSP vs. Hughes and the winner of that should get the next title shot, in my opinion.

I don't think so. Diego's a good wrestler, but Kos is an even better wrestler...he's been NCAA honorable mention more than once. Plus, I'd give the edge in stand-up to Kos. Plus, Kos is a big 170 #'er. I think Diego's looking good right now, I think Kos would be a bad match-up for him though.

i couldnt disagree with you more and i love Kos. if he faced Diego right now he would get trucked. theres an experience level that Diego seems to have crossed that Kos has yet to sniff. Diego's one hell of a fighter Kos has alot of potential but a fight with Diego wont do him any good unless he wants a new set of teeth he can take out every night.

Kos has hit some experienced fighters. Goulet is the 2nd ranked Canadian ww, hes beat Dave Menne, I remember on TUF1, Diego vs Koshchek was a super close match up. Some say Koshchek won, others say Diego. Josh's stand up may actualy be better then Diegos, Diego has submissions on him, but Koshchek has strength, wrestling, and stand up in my opinion. The winner would be the fighter that comes with a better game plan.

Diego certainly didn't dismantle ''Kos'' on the show... this is a hellish fight for me too since I hate both.
Somehow I think I'd be ammused in a sick, weird way to see Kos beat up on Diego though. Hmmm, yeah I'll take Koscheck here.
This is the kinda matchup Diego needs next, he's not Penn- league. If he wants to have a chance to stay undefeated and keep talking like TRiple H then I think he'd be wise to battle Koscheck.

i think Diego is in a bad spot right now, he has beaten every opponent the UFC has put in front of him including Karo who at one point was supposed to fight Matt Hughes. i think Diego is now in a spot similar to where GSP was. i've beaten everyone,i want my title shot. as much as many of you hate to hear, Diego Sanchez has earned a title shot, much more than Riggs or Quarry did. will Diego win? thats not the point, the point is he should be next in line after Hughes Vs. GSP regardless of the potentially bad outcome.

Kos is no where near rdy to fight for the title. Diego has to fight one of the top people in the div. Kos still has alot of climbing to do.

Regardless of whether or not Diego has beaten every opponent that the UFC has thrown in front of him, it doesn't matter what we as fans think that he deserves a title shot. Diego has said many times before as well as his trainer that they don't think he is ready for a title shot just yet. Everytime he fights they find a hole in his gameplan and try to plug it for his next fight. With every fight Diego has gotten better and better.
Now as to Diego fighting Josh Koscheck, why wouldn't he? It was apparent from the get go when Diego first had a match with him that Diego would win easily and even though Josh wasn't that experienced he lost to what many would consider a close fight. Now in recent events Josh has stepped up his game and has added some standup and ground and pound to his wresting. I don't think Josh's gameplan would be all that different from Matt Hughes gameplan if he were to ever fight Diego. Fighting a good wrestler is what Diego would need right now, to see what he can do to avoid takedowns and the ground and pound. Besides I don't think Diego would be fighting BJ Penn seeing how there are rumors going around that he might drop down to the Light Weight Division but who knows for sure, it's always possible. Either way I'd think it would be a tuff match up for Diego.

you may not think that hes penn league, but fighting kos is a much bigger step down for him than bj is a step up. i personally think diego would beat penn anyway. would be a great fight. diego definitely doesnt need a matchup like josh koshchek.

its not even a matter of if you think it would be a good match up or not. fighting Kos is bad for Diego. he's on his way to a title shot you dont need to lose to a guy way outta the top of the WW division. i think Kos has what it takes to warrent some day a title shot but right now he hasnt earn'd the chance to fight Diego. its up for debate if Kos has earned the chance to fight Karo. and thats who i want to see him fight next.

Sanchez really impressed me in a fight (vs Karo) I felt he was not going to win. I think a fight w/ Kos would benefit Sanchez actually. As a gentleman stated earlier in the thread, every fight Sanchez's trainers find holes in his game and try to patch it up for the next bout. Well w/ all the patching they have been doing, I think it would be wise to put Sanchez against Kos to, sort of, "test" these modifications to his game. Sanchez IMO would win in this fight. He needs another (maybe two) fight like this. Penn, as of now, is too much for Sanchez. With Penn's striking and BJJ, Sanchez would be catapulted into reality. Sanchez to me needs 6 more months (at least) to compete for a world belt. There were moments in his fight w/ The Heat were he could have actually put him away but didn't. I don't know if it was lack of experience or what but Sanchez could have avoided a decision all together. That it is not meant, however, to take anything away from Karo. So yeah, lol, it would be a matchup I would watch. Sanchez all the way.
