babalu fans take a knee here.....
I can't believe he went in for liddell that fast, he sealed his own fate.
I wanted babalu to win, he went in for the kill and was KTFO.
I am bummmmmed.
It would not be so bad if the fight had gone a round or two, but dam that was fast.

my sweet cat, Jade, hopping upon my lap as Babalu entered the octagon should have tipped me off to impending defeat. he's on my lap now. I'll surely try to turn him into a full fledged BJ fan by 9/20-21 at least. He apparently had Liddell over Randy in feb and we saw how that went, my kitty knows his mMA.
Soooo cute, yet so MMA intelligent. And hes not even human. I need an IQ test.

I was speechless for the first time ever. You don't bull rush Chuck Liddell, not even if he's unconscious.I don't think I'll ever recover from this.

Yeah, when Babalu rushed in on him like that I actually yelled out "WHAT THE $@&# ARE YOU DOING???!!", then as we all know, it was over soon after. Babalu's still my boy though.

love chuck, but it would have been really refreshing to see babalu get that belt
i still think he is a top fighter, hopefully he learns from this, something about the brazilian fighters that makes you want to side with them, they seem to have so much on their plates yet are always so gracious to be fighting
i dont think they take anything for granted
if Vitor couldn't do it, no one can, and thats real cuz vitor was hitting him good until *bam* one punch knocked him off course
thats the thing bout chuck, i know hes said that hes so good at getting out off his back because he doesnt care if he gets punched..he must have the exact same mentality about flurried blows...somehow he will find an opening and take a few punches to do it its no problem to him
such a simple, yet dynamically efficient fighter

An Interesting Opponent for Liddell
I am guessing no one thought of this combo..
Wesley "Cabbage" Correira, loosing 50 pounds and taking on Liddell. Going from Heavyweight to Light Heavyweight, where he should probably be anyways.
That is about the only interesting fight I can think of against Liddell now.. All the others, you already know, their ass is grass..
Atleast with Correira, he has a head of steel and is from BJ Penn's MMA. He has a real fighting chance against Liddell.
Anyone who can take hits from Sylvia and Arlovski like a punching bag has a real chance against Liddell.
Who else has a stronger chin? No one. Everyone is amazed everytime that guy gets in the ring. He doesn't even need to put up his friggen guard!!
I guess the "real" question as to whether he would really be a solid match is, "Who hits harder and more accurately?" Arlovski or Liddell? Sylvia or Liddell? Remember, Arlovski knocked out Pedro the Rock Rizzo with one punch, I believe it was the first or second punch. Has Liddell done that?
Then, consider the rediculous amount of times Cabbage was hit by Arlovski, yet ate them all, not even blocking many of them?

Good point.. I figure if Cabbage had a bit more motivation, he might see such an opportunity.. He seems to be too easy going, from what I have heard about him..
If he focused on his game, lost the weight, I am seeing a diamond in the ruff here..
But, you are right, the way he his now... It would just be a delayed loss... You know, he just gets hit more times than everyone else and then looses..

Reminds me how Babalu was saying all he has to do in this fight is be himself. Looks like his psychology took him far away from being Babalu.

If they really need a fighter to go against Liddell, naybe they should talk to Brandon Vera. Or, maybe they can get Royce Gracie to fight Liddell. NOT! LOL. Wow, had Liddell lost to Babalu, then the LHW division would have been crazy. Now, Liddell established that he is the top dog. At this point, I bet Liddell would KO Wanderlei Silva.

I forget which website I read it on, but apparently there was a lot of talk about Forrest getting a title shot if he won last night, not that I think he can beat Chuck, but he is pretty good at getting hit in the face repeatedly (like Rocky)

If Griffin had KO'd Bonnar or dominated him, then I would think that Forrest was ready for a title shot with Liddell. But, after watching Forrest struggle against Bonnar, I am thinking that Forrest needs more experience and more oppurtunities to step up his game. Bonnar ought to have been an easier target for Forrest. But, Griffin was unable to capitalize. He did get the decision, but the win was not as sweet.
