But i think after the match is over, BJ will be the one cooking Matt's Country Breakfest.

Penn by KO/TKO.
Well I wish it will be.
But, back to reality, it'll probably be Hughes by submission. I'm going for Penn, but I think Hughes will stop him.

This is going to be a great fight that could go either way but I will promise u one thing and that's if Hughes wins then it most definitely won't be by submission. Penn is excellent on the ground and his submissions r top notch. He is much to good on the ground to get submitted by Hughes, granted Hughes may very well control the fight on the ground due to his superb wrestling ability, but he will not submit Penn...my opinion on the fight is that it's gonna end the same way it did the last time.

I'll be rooting for Penn, but I don't think he'll be able to pull it off.

Can somebody refresh my memory?
It has been awhile since I watched thier first fight, but if I remember correctly Hughes kind of slipped on the mat and BJ pounced on it and Matt dropped into full guard where he was for the remainder of the fight.Never able to secure a dominant position.
If this slip did occur Matt never was able to get the takedown and this vastly effects the potential outcome of this fight.BJ is phenominal from the bottom, but having Hughes on top of you is like having a car roll over on you.
What I'm saying is that if Hughes takes him down, does anyone think BJ can amount a serious offense from the bottom without gassing??I think the only reason GSP won is because his wrestling was good enough to take and keep BJ down and he was able to avoid subs, and Hughes' wrestling is the best in the game. Not to mention his sub game has vastly improved.
With that being said,BJ has alot in his bag of tricks. In the closing seconds of the GSP fight he almost secured a gogoplata. So who knows what kind of craziness BJ can throw at Hughes.
Also Matt wants nothing more than to avenge his biggest loss,so he is probably training harder than he has ever trained, and that though is scary.
Around the time that BJ defeated Hughes he was one of my favorite fighters, but after all the madness that ensued I lost some respect for him.He is kinda like Vitor Belfort,in that he never fully realizes his potential. However, when he is on his game he is unstoppable.
Anyways I think Hughes will win,but I'll be rooting for BJ just to bust my father's chops(he's a huge Hughes fan).Plus it would be nice to the title change hands from time to time.

Matt is going to want to prove a point this time out, that he never should have been beaten by BJ in the first fight. Matt has improved alot since that loss, which for some people is what it takes to go to that next level. ideally i think Matt is going to want to win by RNC, the same way BJ beat Matt. on the other hand Matt might also feel like punishing BJ with strikes for 5 rounds and get a ref stoppage or KO. BJ is not going to win this fight, Matt has gotten too good since they last met.

Hughes by TKO. He'll take him down and gnp him in the first 2 rounds but in the third or fourth round Big John will stop it.

There will be a cold day in hell, before Hughes subs BJ.
I see three possibilities for this one...
-BJ by sub
-BJ by KO/TKO
-Hughes by decision
BJ will definitely take the first round imo. I hope he comes in shape, cause if he can't finish this quickly like last time, Matt could take the decision by controlling the fight in the later rounds.
Matt's not gonna stop BJ tho. Nah-uh.

does anyone else here remember what BJ was saying before his match with GSP? BJ sounded like a maniac. he looked right through GSP and was talking about beating Matt Hughes again for the title, and then moving up to 185lbs. and beating Rich Franklin for that title. BJ never made it past GSP, the man he needed to beat to get the ball rolling. BJ is not the same fighter he was when he beat Matt the first time and Matt is certainly not the same fighter BJ beat. Matt has improved immensely while BJ has become caught up in his own hype.

i agree with this a lot
but i love how so many people think Matt cant tap out BJ... does no one remember what he did to Royce Gracie's arm... if Royce Gracie was a normal humyn being he would have tapped out to Matt and i would never and will never but a chump like bj penn on the same lvl as Royce Gracie!
just so everyone knows i do not jock Matt Hughes i just think he is a good fighter and much better then penn... i watched that first fight 3 times the night it happened in disbelief... i was so taken back that a loser like penn could win that fight... penn has gotten better but Matt snapped and is by far the best in his weight class.... GSP and Matt 2 will be a great fight!

It's a bit early to judge, whether BJ is the same fighter or not imo.
I think his "plan" now, is to beat Hughes, then take the 155-belt, and then move up to take Rich's belt (Rich probably won't have that belt for long tho).
And call me crazy, I don't think that's impossible.

This fight has split decision written all over it.
I agree with Gooner that BJ will more than likely win the first round, possibly even the second. However, Matt will control the last two or three rounds and win by split decision. The third and middle round will be the key.
I definitely see a Hughes/Penn III in the next couple years. This will be a good fight, but it won't be as good as everyone is thinking.
