No doubt, this loss doesnīt take anything away from Wandy being a tough fighter, he stepped into the ring with the second best HW in the world. CroCop was just too much for him.

I was kinda hoping for CC-Nog too. For different reasons, I suppose. CC would have avenged that loss.
A small part of me feels bad for Wandy. I mean, Vitor was the last/only guy to KO/TKO him, and that was a loong time ago.
You just know, a lotta people will "abandon" him now. Wandy's the man, and so is Mirko. Big fan of both.

Nog is my favorite fighter,so I'm a little biased, but I thought that fight was his.He landed better punches, almost armbarred him,and was mounted throughout.Barnett had a kneebar in the closing seconds, and that was his biggest accomplishment of the match.
Oh well,it was a really exciting fight, and that's all I really ask for.

Man I've never seen Wandy get beat that bad before, but it was touching when the doctors were looking at him and he was jumping up down telling them he could fight. It was like right out of a Rocky movie.
True warrior.

I thought Nog should have had that decision too.
Someone posted something about wanting "to know more about Cro Cop after the GP" in the UFC Forum that spoiled the night for me. I knew all thru where it would end up. I can't find the spoiler post now. Did a moderator delete it?
Great fight with Wandy though. Dominating performance!

I saw the PPV tonite. Looked like Barnett took a finger to the eye right at the end of the fight. Anyone else notice that?

I could see no eye-poke, no matter how much I replayed it.
I think it may have been just a punch in the eye. Doesn't really matter anyway, Barnett was getting dominated.

That sucks. This is why I avoid most forums before I've watched the fights. The PRIDE forum here had it under control nicely. All it takes is one jackass though.

the way Barnett reacted, I initially thought it may have been an eyepoke, but after seeing the replays, it looked like a solid elbow to the cheekbone followed up by a punch. I wouldnt be surprised if it's fractured.. especially with the immediate swelling.

Barnett was saying that he had Nog screaming with that knee bar at the end of the fight. Did anyone think he had him there or hear anything?
Even if Nog got the decision, I think he was pretty beat up to face Cro Cop, especially if that leg was hurt. Maybe avoided worse with an unstoppable Cro Cop.

I donīt know about the eye-poke. I watched that fight three times, and I still couldnīt make out where this thumb got into Barnettīs eye. In any case, he was getting pounded in to the canvas, Mirko dropped him and was beating on him, with or without a thumb, Mikro was absolutely dominating him, not saying that Barnett didnīt put up a good fight.

Watching the fight between Overeem and Arona again, I can see what Overeem means with the freak injury. When Arona low kicked him in the beginning, it wasnīt the impact of the low kick that put Overeem down, he moved in an awkward manner and injured his foot, it looked like his toe. I definitely want to see Arona vs. Overeem again.

I just now read this topic, and I want to say great job Seikan! I felt like I was watching it on PPV. I actually got excited just reading the CroCop/Wandy fight you posted. Great job. Those GIFs are amazing too!
I'm glad to see Arona pick up the win because I was wondering where the hell he had been for the last 8 or 9 months. It sucks that Overeem was hurt though. I'd like to see them fight again as well.
It sounded like a great PPV, one I'm not happy about missing.
Congrats to Mirko! I really thought he had lost a step with his last fights against Barnett (won but not in impressive fashion) and Hunt. He is fully back now it seems. It's time for another CroCop/Fedor battle.

All I can say about this event is...WOW. I was also really glad to see Aleks win, good to see Shogun back too. After this one, I don't think anyone could call Liddell the best counterstriker in MMA, that title belongs to CroCop.

yeah Crocop looked more impressive then anyone i've seen in quite some time. i think people been saying it for a while about Wandy his head down swing for the fence technique is very hard to execute agianst a guy with that great of counterstriking.

Mirko is the most technically perfect striker i have ever seen. he kicked Wands ass and that is no small feet. Wandy is one of the greatest fighters of all time. Mirko is a horrible match up for him, with his reach advntage and his straight strikes.
Congrats to Mirko. i am very happy for him and cant wait to see his rematch against Fedor. maybe its his turn, he has me a bit worried.
