You could call that a freak injury to make an excuse for the loss but Arona had the body triangle locked tight and he was going nowhere fast. I don't know how you could think it wasn't the impact of the low kick because that was a standard Arona brutal low kick and that is the kind of impact that can tear ligaments, bust knee caps or whatever.
Overeem got completely owned and I'd love to see it again except he needs to move on to better things and get another title shot or at least a rematch with Shogun.
And yeah I know I'm wayyyyy late on this but I've just got around to watching it. Freakin school sucks.
