I have to strongly disagree that it was one of those "brutal low kicks". However, even if he moved back in a weird way and injured himself because of that, you still have to give credit to Arona, because it was the low kick that made him back up in the first place. No excuses being made here for Overeem, however I am confident that this totally threw him off.
About getting completely owned, well I see it different. Overeem was actually owning him standing up until that happened, and in Overeemīs guard or side control, Arona couldnīt really land any shots, until he managed to mount his back, by the way the triangle was not as tight as you think, Aronaīs left leg wasnīt even completely locked. It was due to Overeem not defending himself anymore that he was able to keep the mount.
After Overeem tapped, Arona hit him in the face on purpose, and for this gesture alone, I hope that Overeem beats the snot out of him if they fight again. It is behaviour like this that makes people not like him, but that is a different topic.

I know you weren't making excuses. I'm just messing with you because everyone always says Arona makes excuses and how he can't finish anyone and other crap like that. It didn't seem like anything was wrong with Overeems ankles when he was throwing those upkicks and using his left foot to scoot back while Arona was trying to get better position when they were scooting toward the ringpost after falling down. You may see it differently but I saw it as Arona proving that his kicks are powerful enough to put you on your butt. He's done it several times now and it also proves that Silva didn't just "slip"
I don't remember Overeem ever owning anything. Didn't he just throw like one flying knee that didn't even land cleanly. I saw them stand for a little bit then Arona took him down and methodically took him apart with ease.
I don't know if you've ever felt a body triangle but even one that you are assuming doesn't look very tight can still hurt like hell. Even so I disagree I think he had it on fine.
Come on dude. It was like a split second after the tap. I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. It's nothing compared to when Barnett tapped out to the freak injury and Mirko kept punching him like 6 times well after the fact.
