Arona was clearly losing the stand up ( the few seconds of what we had) until that takedown. I am confident that the fight would have gone a different way if Overeem wouldn´t have hurt his heel. You may disagree, and that is fine.

About the body triangle, yes I have felt a few, and I have applied enough to know his triangle was not tight in the last few seconds of the fight.

Regarding the punch after the tap, it was messed up. I am not going to say it wasn´t and what Mirko did to Barnett in their first encounter has nothing to do with this. I respect Arona as a fighter, he has proven to be a excellent grappler and good fighter, his stand up is not great, but is overall a good fighter.
I can't disagree with that. I'm not saying that it wasn't an odd turn of events because Alistair did look silly the way he went down. It wasn't normal that's for sure. What I'm saying though is his foot injury that happend a couple minutes prior isn't (or doesn't seem to me at least) the reason he tapped out. It's not like he was just laying there and tapped out. He wasn't in the best position ever. He had Arona on his back with a body triangle raining down with punches. Not much anyone could do about that.

What I was getting at with the Mirko and Barnett comparison was pretty much the same thing. Barnett tapped out, and he wasn't just lightly tapping the mat, he was slamming his palm down. Mirko unless he is deaf had to have heard that he still punched him several times after the fact even while he was pulling away and the ref was trying to seperate them. I'm just saying that kind of stuff happens all the time but the exciting and popular fighters can get away with it as long as they don't "LnP" to get wins.

I could also say it's messed up when Mirko added the unnecessary blows to Dos Caras and Aleks after they had been knocked out. But I don't care that much.
