Now I know why I love Pride!
Today on Spike the UFC was on live and the fights where boring. Ther was a huge lack of alot of thing
1. Stamina
2. Flexiblity (they would just be on the fence and can't get off)
3. Submission skills
4. There weren't that many kicks used at all
5. The crowded cheered/boo-ed if any type of punch landed
6. And some other stuff I can't think of list anything you saw wrong
It was just horrible I mean it was like watching my brothers fight they were tired as hell after the 1st round and nobody went for ankle or leg locks or even arm bars they weren't even kicking that much. The crowd was cheering and boo-ing all at once they didn't know what the hell was going on 99% of the time. UFC=2 punches then clinch then takedown the clinch on the ground throw some elbows in the guard restart on the feet and then repeat. They are gonna need some better fights if the want people to get into MMA. The guy Swick fought faked at him........ In MMA that doesn't work because when you fake you step in and all that says is hit me in the face and thats what happened Chonan did the same crap if you underestimate a guy your gonna lose remember no fakes in MMA. Overall UFC=Bad. Pride=Greateast fight network ever!

I like how you characterize an entire orangization as "Bad" based on one night of fights.

OK... i don't want to brand myself as a hater, but you won't catch me watching old UFN. No thanks. Comparing these guys to the better Pride fights is kind of stupid, just like comparing these guys to the UFC competitions. Do you think there is a reason that that **** is free and the rest is on PPV? I'm sure that there is... don't compare TV to the top tier competition.

I feel this way about almost all of UFC I'll only get 54 to see Horn beat Chuck because Chuck way to overrated and Hon has been to Pride and he'll be able to take that Knowledge and everthing else he has learned cause he's been in MMA since the begining and when Chuck came to Pride he got beat down. There only like 6 fighters in UFC who are actually pretty good

No offense, but you are quite one sided with your love for pride and hatred and disdain for all that is UFC.

Well thats what you get when you pit a lot of old TUF guys on a pay per view. Nothing wrong with it. I agree with the crowd comment but I bet you that if Scwick or Salavary went to Pride and fought they would do very well.
It was a sub par show. So what! It was one show. If I based my knowledge for Pride on Bushido 6 or even Total Elmination 05 I wouldn't be impressed with it. It's one show.

pride is better than UFC. they are a more established company that can afford to pay their fighters better. MMA is just starting to catch on over here. as long as it keeps growing UFC will be able to afford the best fighters in the world. i dont recall jeremy horn stepping in the ring with Rampage Jackson like Chuck did. who are all these great fighters that Horn has beaten? i dont think one loss to Jackson is much of a set back.

the rules in Pride also make sure that there is always action. they have rules that will take away prize money if you don't fight. those darn cards the ref holds up. Pride is designed to keep the action going. once again the entertainment aspect of MMA shows its face.

Japan has always had wicked rules and tournaments. Vale Tudo was even better, they allowed elbows. In general in Japan they want to see vicious fights, but with talented fighters.
Pride delivers just that, spectacular kicks, good knockouts, memorable submissions, brutal ground and pound. it has it all... and a whole lot of talent.

Yes but they (Japanese fans) will be equally impressed with good groundwork. They never boo when it goes to the ground. That is another difference between UFC and Pride. I was disgusted with the way fans reacted to Mir vs. Sylvia. Mir broke Tim's freaking arm and they still booed him. What more did they want him to do? Tear it off and slap him in the face with it? The typical UFC fan who discovered MMA through TUF just wants to see ko's and doesn't truly appreciate the sport. They don't understand groundwork at all. They say it's boring. I know this from talking to a lot of guys at work and I will talk about UFC and they only know Liddell, Couture, and the "guy who does all the slams". They don't have a clue of any of the guys from Pride, or some of the better UFC fighters. It's pathetic so I'm glad I have a place to come and talk to people who really appreciate MMA. Also Sakuraba vs. Newton was probably my favorite fight ever. Not just favorite grappling match, favorite of all time. I have never been more impressed with a match then I have been with that one. Amazing.

I like how in Japan the crowd is real silent then when something happens like a good punch you get a good oooooooo and the guy recovers real quick and then you get a small applause. They can also see submissions and know when someones in danger they won't be yelling and cheering and boo-ing all at once like UFC and then when you get a brawl thats when they really start to go crazy. Bas always describes the place as electirc I wanna go to an eent one day even participate

I was just happy to see a live event free on TV...I didn't have much expectations knowing that these TUF guys are like minor leaguers who just got called up. I think they had a pretty good showing against more experienced fighters.
Brandon, you have always been biased against the UFC in your posts and this is no exception...To judge the UFC based on a free event involving a bunch of rookie fighters makes no sense to me.
Further more, we will be establishing rules that do not allow for "Pride is better than the UFC" debates except for in "The Arena" forum. The Pride forum is for Pride discussion and not UFC...The UFC forum is for UFC discussion, not Pride. "The Arena" is for all fighting, including debates about which Promotion is better out of the 2. Moving Thread...Please post in the appropriate forums.

I enjoyed the UFC show on Spike TV. There was some good fights. I wish that I could get Pride and Pancrase fights in my area, but all we get is UFC and K-1. But, I am not unhappy... I love the UFC. K-1 is pretty cool as well.
