I'll admit I'm biased. No mattter who Matt Hughes fights I will always root for the other guy.....and I see hope in GSP.

Oh really? What chinks would that be, Too good of conditioning or too relentless? St. Pierre in not anything compared to Penn on the ground. St. Pierre is not as good as him standing either soooooooo what are you talking about.

The chinks would be, that he wants to box and isn't very good at it, he is susceptible to submissions, and his takedown can be stuffed. St Pierre doesn't have to be as good as Penn on the ground or standing. He just has to be better than Hughes.

The poll at MMA Weekly is even more lopsided. 66% are going for GSP.

Just look what happened to lastexit, he lost 75,000 points when he dared bet against the Country Breakfest.

I think showing Hughes actually get CHALLENGED for once, is making some think hughes may have lost his edge recently. And now the title is ripe for the picking by GSP.
Thats ok fellas. Matt hughes loves to prove you guys wrong who dare doubt the POWER of the Country breakfest.

BJ did exactly as I predicted, until he gassed/was injured. That's the only possibility I thought Hughes had before the fight too.
The fact, that he got a stoppage instead of a decision, surprised me, but that could be down to the injury obviously. The way BJ was totally spent in that 3rd round even though, he had spent the end of round 2 on Matt's back and his own back trying to sub him, makes it very hard for me to believe it was just gassing.
He didn't gas that badly against GSP in the third, and that was his comeback-fight.
BJ is a bit better than GSP both standing and on the ground, but GSP is still better than Hughes standing, he's way more athletic, and ground is tough to call.
I doubt very much, that GSP will be spending too much time on his back in this fight though.
BJ had that one question mark before the fight with Hughes, GSP has none for me. He won't gas, and after Matt has taken a beating for 3 rounds, I think it's more likely that Matt will gas instead.

Didn't BJ say that GSP was stronger than Hughes after the GSP/Penn fight. If GSP can stuff the take downs Hughes will get owned.

Yep, what he said.
Penn was able to deal with Matts shoots (until he gassed)-- I dont think GSP can.

Yeah, and Marc Laimon said GSP was stronger than all the middleweights on TUF 4 too.
I think he'll stuff the takedowns of Hughes almost as easily as he stuffed Sherk's. It's not only about strength or balance when you wanna stuff takedowns. His quickness and agility is gonna be a problem for Hughes.

Wow maybe you guys are right b/c I know that Hughes never works with anyone that is as good as him or as strong as him with his camp....... I forget what it's called though but they must have some scrubs GSP couldn't finish Penn and Hughes did. Now GSP has to put up or shut up and he'll be shuting up right after the fight.
Off topic but I nominate Gooner president of the "God I hope somebody can beat Matt Hughes" club.

GSP is the stronger fighter in this fight. Even BJ said that. GSP was also the strongest fighter on TUF4 minus Randy Couture. Do you guys not remember the GSP/Penn fight? GSP got the takedown on Penn easily. He even slammed Penn and took him down 3 TIMES. Hughes looked like a fool trying to take Penn down and constantly failing. And if it wasn't for that injury Hughes probably wouldnt of been able to finish penn like that. Maybe not even win.
GSP has grown since the last fight by far.

I think that Hughes will beat GSP pretty soundly. Everyone knows that syles make fights. I believe that this matchup will be better for Hughes than that with BJ. The real reason that Hughes couldnt take Bj down was Hughes approach and BJs insane flexibility. I have never seen anyone bend like Penn did, he was like a rubber band. GSP is not as flexible, I think that GSP is one of the greatest fighters right now and will hold the belt, but not until Hughes gets older and/or retires. Hughes works in the arguable the greatest camps and works with trains with some of the best fighters. I have Hughes.
Betting it all for Hughes. Join me and get rich!
^That could be a advertisement right?^ LOL

What are you talking about? Working with someone stronger, doesn't make Hughes stronger/better than GSP.
LOL @ "GSP couldn't finish Penn". Conveniently forgetting, that Hughes was in way more trouble against Penn AND Penn's injury.
How bout Hughes went 5 rounds with Sherk, and GSP demolished him in the second?
I nominate this guy "the most likely guy to get personally offended if someone doesn't think Hughes is the best there is". Wah wah.

GSP did this when Penn was gassed, look what Hughes did to Penn when he was gassed knocked him out. He made him look so bad that Penn went and made excuses for the fight.

People are talking as if Hughes never worked with someone as strong as GSP. I think he is stronger than GSP.
Why would you compare these two fighters by a common fight. Some people have their nights. The fights are two and a half years apart. That's like saying Mayorga would beat Oscar b/c Mayorga beat Forrest, who beat Mosely, who beat De La Hoya.
What about when Hughes made GSP tap in the first? Hahahahahahahahah...hahahahaha. yea that's what I thought.
