Sherk vs Florian
Didn't Sherk go the distance with Hughes? I can't help but forsee a KO or a bigazzz cut on Florian.
Most of the fights I have seen of Florian involve luck, or a bad night for his opponent. I just don't see him on the same level as Sherk. Florian didn't impress me too much on TUF.
Any thoughts?

Florian's better all around than he was on TUF. Plus he's no longer a shrimp now that he's in the LW division. He looked great against Stout. He's obviously serious about winning. Going to Thailand to train Muay Thay was pretty cool. But there's a world of difference between Sam Stout's ground game and Sherk's, and this fight's going to be on the ground. I agree, Ken-Flo will have to pull off an elbow cut again to win this one. I'll be betting against him.

This will definitely be his biggest test. But i wouldn't make him as big an underdog as other people might. TUF1 wasn't a bunch of scrubs. Most of those guys would have been in the UFC soon anyways, especially the ones we still see around.. Florian is no joke. He just doesn't have a real fighter's look and you're used to seeing him way above his natural weight. And we don't know how comfortable Sherk is going to be at lightweight. We know for sure Florian is at his most ideal weight and is comfortable there.

i agree... and i think kenny boy is a great fighter, but the more i think about this and look at both of their history in mma i cant help but think sherk will have his way with him for the first two rounds easy... if florian can hold on and not gas then i think the fight will start to even out. i just cant see florian winning anymore. i use to think he could win. we will see... i need to do some more research!

see the thing i want to know is how many rounds this fight is gonna be. i think Ken-Flo is gonna gain a nice edge if its a 5 round bout since he's a natural 155 guy and has fought there already. i imagine the wieght loss is gonna be a bit for Sherk to handle for his first fight ever there. plus Sherk is really ripped i wonder if he's gonna have trouble even making wieght to begin with.

I don't see why it wouldn't be 5 rounds. It's still a title fight.

I don't see any way that Zoolander beats Sherk!!! But I guess crazy things can happen. Just not that crazy.
Sherk TKO 2nd round. Referee stoppage; ground-n-pound. Would have been the first round but he was feeling out a bit in the 1st.

Sherk will win. I hate to go against Kenny but sherk is to quick and powerful. I think how quick he wins depends how seriously kenny takes him. If kenny underestimates him he may loses in the beginning of the first round. No one ever talks about sean sherks striking!!! He has very, very fast punches. If kenny doesn't watch out for these punches he might get tagged and go to sleep.

Its a tough one to call but I think I might go for Kenny on this one. No doubt he's gonna be practising his takedown defence and if he does manage to keep it on the feet I think he'll be a lot more aggressive against Sherk than Diaz was. Even if the fight does go to the ground, Kenny could always use his BJJ background and maybe pull off a sub.
Then again it would be the first time I made a bad prediction

i think Sherk owns every aspect of this fight except the luck factor. Florian seems to have that on his side while Sherk has the experience, the strength and power and is equally if not more skilled on the ground. i see Sherk manhandling Florian much like Matt Hughes mauled Royce.

I just don't know how the weight cut will effect Sherk. He might not be as strong at 155 or his cardio may suffer from it.He says he can make it no problem, but we won't know how his body reacts until the actual event.I know he has wrestled near that weight in the past so we shall see if can still be as dominant at 155.
KenFlo seems to be a much better fighter at 155 than at 185.He has pretty good BJJ and decent striking. His biggest wins are against Kit Cope and Sam Stout who are both kickboxers with little to no ground game.He was absolutely dominated by Diego, but it was two weight classes higher than he should be fighting and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.
Sherks only two losses are to Hughes and GSP,and last time I checked those guys are pretty good.
KenFlo has a legitimate chance, and I think he'll survive for one round, but the fight will go to the ground and Sherk is a very hard guy to submit and is way more experienced than Zoolander.
I will root for Kenflo because I love when the underdogs win,but I see Sherk just overwhelming him and pounding him into oblivion late in the 2nd.
This is all hypothetical however because the fight will be easily stopped if Zoolander is able to hit him with "Magnum."

Sean Sherk MAJOR underdog against KenFlo.
If sherk goes into the fight with determination, heart, and a COMPLETE gameplan. He might come out on top.
Otherwise KenFlo= New LW Champion!

I was thinking the same thing about Sherk. I have never seen him fight at 155 so you never really know what kind of damage that can do too your cardio. Kenflo has already shown that 155 is the right weight for him and he will have the reach advantage. If Kenny can work the jab and keep this fight on his feet i think he can win it.
