Default Does the UFC need better talent?

After seeing Silva go straight to the top in just two performances, what does that say about the current situation in the UFC? Is the talent in the UFC not quite at the level of other competitors outside the UFC?

What if they let Fedor loose in the UFC? What would happen if they let champions from other competitions enter the UFC? Would the UFC hold their own?

Does the UFC need to bring in more fighters and "do a spring cleaning"?

What do you think would happen if they let Fedor loose in the UFC? My guess is the same thing that is happening with him loose in Pride. Fedor's absoulte domination of everyone. I think other than Tim the other champs would hold their own against the other champs.

Only in the HW division.

Kongo got so much hype after beating two average fighters, and looked terrible against an opponent who could take him down.If Marrero had decent GNP Kongo would have been hurt.

-MW still has alot of young talent(Marquardt,Terrell,Swick,Crow,Lister, etc)Not to mention Franklin will be back better hopefully.
-WW is really stacked
-LW is stacked
-LHW is ok for now.

Some possible title contenders:

HW: Wide open right now. Pick a top contender in PRIDE. Any of them would give the UFC guys trouble.

LHW: W. Silva, Mauricio Rua, Ricardo Arona, Machida...maybe Q. Jackson. Silva vs. Liddell...who knows? I think Arona would give this division a lot of competition.

MW: Nate Marquardt's here, so that should be interesting. Dan Henderson from Pride would give some trouble too. Matt Lindland is good too.

WW: This is where I think UFC dominates. Not many contenders elsewhere. UFC did a good job in building it up. Truly one of the best collection of talent in the world.

LW: Much like the MW division. Gomi might put up some serious competition here.

is it just me, or did anyone else notice that not 1 ufc fighter is in mma weekly top tens lightweights?
didnt jens pulver just get beat down, and wasnt he the heir apparent to the lightweight title.
i dont feel that any weight class is all that great, and here is why:
1)who is gonna beat chuck? (once he disposes of tito in short order, we'll see a talent vacuum again)
2) who is gonna beat silva? before silva, no one could touch franklin, so who can touch the new number 1 when he destroyed the old untouchable #1
3) GSP is gonna take hughes apart, after that we'll see a love triangle between penn, hughes, and GSp that will go nowhere fast once gsp wins
4) the heavyweight division has become the new "who cares" bowl, after monson wins, we're stuck with 2 or 3 silvia rematches; if silvoia wins, we still see a void in talent
5) no lightweight will garner the attention of the fans
