I think people need to read these again (or for the first time). There has been a lot of antics similar to another *unnamed site* and it's getting really annoying.

I would just like to say that the staff do a wonderful job here and it's a shame for some to intentionally cause havoc. Enjoy the site but respect the rules please. Keep up the good work staff.

I read this at the Dallas Stars message board and it fits in well to ours too.. so read this please.
\"Communicating in a chat room or on message boards is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not your facial expressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words.
Remember that the words you enter in a burst of passion or indignant anger will be there for you and everyone else to see, sometimes long after those intense feelings have passed. That\'s not meant to discourage spontaneity, but just a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post.
You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else\'s opinion. At times like these, please keep in mind it\'s safer and more polite to take issue with the comments rather than the person. \"

Just a reminder for people to read these. I'm just going to assume everyone already has and just needs a refresher. Follow these rules or leave. Please no more fighter bashing, and for God's sake stop making freakin duplicate threads!

Indeed. There will be zero tolerance for duplicate threads. They will be deleted, regardless of how many posts may be in them. Also, don't start stupid threads.
8. Don't start threads with little to no value, such as 'Ortiz won, and yall knew I was right. Either contribute to a conversation or don't post. This is also known as spamming, and not only is in bad taste, but gives other members a poor opinion of you

okay, i read the rules, but i have few innocent questions.
1)if i start a thread that is similar to another one that hasnt been visited in 3 weeks, am i expected to go back to the thousand's of threads to double check mine isnt a duplicate?
2)okay, i only had one question, but it was a good one, you gotta admit (i got nothing!!)
**thanks guys

I think the admins are going to say to use the search function. On occasion my problem is starting a thread that is posted at the same time (within a minute) of another similar thread.

Just search for the words that will be used in your topic that could turn up in the other threads. For example you would not believe how many Chuck vs. Silva threads I've merged into one. People just don't seem to get this idea. Click on search type 'chuck silva' or 'liddell silva' what have you, click search and bam there ya go. It's not that hard. But yeah if it's not worth merging into the others it will be deleted.

Disrespecting Tito's GF is disrespecting Tito. Why should you use this forum to disrespect Tito or his girlfriend? Do it somewhere else, I don't care to read it.

If youi're trying to figure out if it's disrespecting or bashing a fighter, just ask yourself, would he punch me in the mouth if I said this to his face?

Exactly. It's the difference between saying, "I don't think Matt Serra has the strength or the cardio to hang with the winner of GSP-Hughes", and saying, "Matt Serra is a chump who doesn't deserve a UFC contract." The first one is an informed opinion about the outcome of an upcoming match, and the second is just disrespectful namecalling.

you dont think that any fighter would punch you in the face for saying: in my honest opinion, i really think that you gassed and that your work ethic isnt up to par in comparison to the countless fighters that eclipse you as of late?
look at tito, the guy seems to get upset rather easily, so too does shammy.
is accusing penn of theft not likely to lead to a smack in the mouth, and is it only bashing when 1 fighter laughs (penn) but another fighter wants to punch the person (go accuse liddell of theft).
i appreciate your position, but we dont know these fighters personally, so i am questioning the utility of this test, sorry bud.

sorry bud, but i gotta ask...
for each event, we have predictions or bets as to who we thik are gonna win each fight, often including round and way. if you told a fighter that you would bet half of your money (analogous to points) on that fighter getting ktfo in the first, you dont think you may get a shot in the face.
imagine this: "hey tito, in my opinion you are gonna get knocked out in the very first round by the same guy that you claim has your belt even though you havent had it in years since randy beat you down and made you cry, and i would even bet 1/2 of all my money on it".
back to the jenna issue, the rules say no fighter bashing, and she certainly isnt a fighter, so i am still unsure why discussing her is problematic. granted it may be tacky, but it certainly cant be bashing. do you think tito wouldnt hit me for saying the above, but would smack me in the mouth for discussing what she does for a living???
** 3. No fighter bashing of any kind. This includes referees. We expect all members to show respect for the amount of hard work, time, and effort it takes to be a professional fighter. We understand if you dislike a fighter and voice factual information that you disagree with, but we will absolutely not tolerate comments such as this fighter "is a bum" or "a fat loser". Please show more respect for fighters who lay it all on the line to step into a ring or octagon.
not trying to be a dink, but i think this may be a greyer area that we may realise.

your really getting way too in depth with this so you can continue to speak in a sly why taking constant jabs at certain guys so... instead how about just be respectful and ask yourself, do you go through half of the committment doing anything at all in order to entertain others and put on a show??? if so would you want thousands of guys on a chat board constantly insulting you?
