I think its sad that there are so many amazing boxers out there that fight hard, train hard, and have the heart and determination to be future champions but everyday they have to live in the shadow of a ghost, like Tyson. If Tyson's name is going to go down in boxing history, he should get in controll of his professional career and actually be a role model to others and show that he actully is championship material. Actions speak much louder than words................janice

I think Mike Tyson deserves this much of attention. He is the Youngest Heavyweight Champ ever - won it at age 20(!). He unified the belts and was 39-0-0 with 35 KOs before he lost for the first time in his professional career to the 42:1 underdog James Buster Douglas in Tokyo. He probably is the most exciting fighter ever - he creates an atmosphere, which I cannot describe with words, it is unbelievable.
Yes, there are boxers out there who are working hard, giving all they got. But maybe this is just not enough to be on the same level as Tyson, even when he is almost 39 years old. People want to see him. If Tyson was a typical role model, this would make him ordinary, but he is special. It might be he is much more of a role model than you think he is. I respect Mike Tyson as a boxer and as a person - the man and father.

I agree with both of you. While I'd like to see some new guys who have been busting their butt, you cant argue the fact that the man sells a fight. Until the people decide they don't want to see the train wreck we call Mike Tyson he wil continue to get a shot. This includes me because I will be watching his next fight. I just hope he has a better showing then last time.

Dont get me wrong...........I' m not taking cheap shots at Tyson. I respect what he has done for boxing and I agree that he is one of the greatest all time boxer's in the world . I dont believe he made it to the top by luck. I just think that he needs to make better decisions and because he is in the public eye, as a celeberty and champion, he has to realize that everything and anything he does, will have a large positive or negative effect. I guess its not easy being famous...........

I am not sure who will win the fight because I have not seen both of them (Tszyu and Hatton) often enough to judge their performances properly.
Please open a separate thread for other fights next time. This thread is intended for discussions concerning Tyson vs. McBride.

I m pretty excited to see this match. I see a few people seem to think Tyson is going to git KO'd, I really dont think this is going to happen. I think this is going to be a war and I m hoping the ref will be a good one. I m hoping we wont see any illeagal holding, but I m pretty confident this is what we are going to see. Hope you all enjoy the fight, I know i will....

The hype is almost over...less than 48 hours. I am leaning toward McBride if Tyson can't do any real damage in the first 5 rounds.
Make sure you place your Tyson vs McBride bets here! Here are the bets so far :
Tyson defeats McBride :
Bull - 542
guile - 100
PghPens - 90
McBride defeats Tyson :
Rahkus 70

Oh I am definatly a McBride fan but i am trying to be realistic. I think if he avoids leaning and holding he will do well. I dont think anyone has seen Tyson fight in quite some time, so we just dont know what to expect from him. Is he going to fight on the inside? Are both fighers gonna get fustrated and hold? Most importantly who is gonna ref and how firm is he going to be with the rules. I do think were gonna see some low blows, do to the height difference, that is gonna be a given. Anyone know who is on the undercard?

I'm going for Mike on this one. I don't know if he's going to win though, the other guys looks a lot bigger than him. Whatever happens, it should probably be a good fight.

Size does not matter in any fight, i think we have all seen enough upsets to know this. Skill, determination and HEART ARE THEY KEY FACTORS. The Hurricane is starting to hit over here and I just hope it doesnt knock out the signal so i can see the fight.

Who will be watching this fight? I may go out somewhere to see it, but I don't think I will get the PPV. Where will you be watching?

Hopefully the hurricane doesn't have much strength. That is the one thing I don't like about Florida. I think I could take the humidity, but so many hurricanes. Good luck girlfight, hope you get to watch the fight
