I know it's been said a million times over but man that is just painful to see what Rich was paid. He really needs to read before he signs.

How the hell does Chuck come off making a whooping $250k per fight, and rich, a former dominent MW champ, makes chump change in comparison?

Hell, assuming chuck loses his next title fight: he'll still probabley make WAY MORE in losing a fight, than rich did back when he was winning!

That pretty sad the UFC pays some so little compared too fighters like Chuck, Jens, Hughes and Kongo. $3000 for a fight is insulting, i make that almost in a month and a half of just working. They need too have a minimum salary of around 10 grand (give or take) for a fight. UFC is making alot of money right now with their highest PPV rating ever and the TUF series singlehandedly saving Spike TV. They can afford at this point too pay their fighters more. 3grand for 6 months of training? WTF!

Well, with the UFC's pay structure (show / win), some of these fighters dont make much at all. Look at Franklin, he got 21K in his losing effort against Silva. Had he won, he would have gotten 42K. Silva was getting paid more than Franklin in just his 2nd UFC match while Franklin was defending the MW belt for the 3rd time and after he had already beaten the whos who of the weight devision. Now, compare what the champs make. Again, Franklin as an example since hes the easy one to point out.....Hughes makes over 300K for his title defense where Franklin (even if he won the match) received about 1/10th of what Hughes made.

Franklin has been an easily marketed champion and a great ambassador for the sport and the UFC both in interviews as well as in TV appearances. It just seems like these athletes should be and deserve to be making more money than what is being paid to them by one of the top organizations in the sport. UFC 64 paid out a total of just over 200K while their gate sales and PPV sales reaches into the millions. This just seems like too large of a discrepancy for Dana White to be playing off like he has been doing lately.

The problem is that a lot of these fighters don't shop themselves around, often times, it's like this:

Manager: "Hey UFC, I've got a fighter who wants to fight in the UFC, what can you do?"

Then, the power is in the UFC's hands and it becomes a game of 'how much can I lowball you and get you to fight?'

Rich Franklin is a prime example. He wanted to fight in the UFC, had a bad manager, forsight, etc and got a crappy, crappy multi-fight deal.

If more fighters would literally pimp themselves to UFC, K1, Pride etc, they'd get a bidding war and get better money. You have to keep relationships open with all organizations.

I'll use another local example; Carlos and his manager were very smart initally and kept lines of communication open with all the major organizations; for the match he lost the title to Matt Hughes, he got 90k (and a bonus no one is supposed to know about; especially Matt), and matt got something mediocre like 7k or some such.

Even when he lost again in the UFC and they suddenly didn't think he was worth that much, they kept in touch with Pride and K1 and got a great deal to fight in Pride.

okay this is one thing that kind of bothers me. is this concrete these figures and nothing else cuz i see people speak on the UFC pay but im thinking its not the whole story. i personally think this is what they made for the fight alone but they have base contracts that pay them a salary. i could be wrong but it really only makes sense. plus alot of these guys make some really nice money from sponsers. im sure Rich Franklin is doing just fine with his bank account.

They've all gotten jacked if you look at total fighter payout $209,000?

After the UFC bragged about how many viewers watched UFN on Tuesday then you know they made millions probably on PPV and at least a million at the gate?

The fighters need better representation. Cause those figures SUCK!!!!

After Taxes?

Shoot!

And if they pay their corners anything???????

JACKED!!!!!

It's not the point of how much Rich makes all together. I'm sure he does make tons from his sponsors...from his sponsors, not the UFC.

And no they don't pay them a salary. IFL prides themselves in being the only organization that pays a fighter a salary.
