Remember the guys in the first season bitching about having to fight for free? That's because if they'd get paid, everyone would know the results before the show aired.
The amount of rounds doesn't matter in that regard. I think the 2-round fights are dumb though.

They do get paid. You should watch the show. The fighter that wins gets paid $5000 for that win. Those are professional fights, whether you like it or not. The reason that they are NOT listed in the UFC records or the Sherdog records is due to one simple reason: the fight results do NOT get reported until the night that the show airs on TV. In order to have the fights listed the results must be reported publically within 24 hours of the end of the match. |
