I think Vera would have a hard time beating Monson. He would take out Sylvia, but not easily. Mir will get stopped by Vera, so he's not in the picture.
If AA comes back into the picture, it would be nice to see him go up against Vera. I wouldn't be able to pick a winner there.

After the accident of Mir, I don't think he will ever be as good as his old self and won't be HW champ again. Vera will take him apart with kicks to his legs then to end it will be a kick to his head.
Just my opinion guys.

Ryduce, how on earth could you possibly be so confident in Mir after seeing his last couple of performances. What do you know that we don't know? Are you training with him? I'd love to see Mir make a comeback but he swore he'd be in shape for his last fight and didn't deliver. I'm very skeptical this time as well.
I will tell you one thing. If Mir's cardio is not top notch there is no way he's winning this fight. If he gasses like he did last time Vera's style will totally expose him. Some may laugh but there are quite a few things about Brandon Vera that remind me of Anderson Silva. Vera is a good striker (not quite as pinpoint and accurate as Silva), but Vera is great out of the clinch with both his knees and his fists. Not to mention he's got great leg kicks in the standup position.
I am really looking forward to this fight as I hope both fighters show up and put on a hell of a show. I like both fighters so as long as the fighter is entertaining I don't care who wins. But right now it's impossible to pick Mir considering what he's shown lately.

I liked Mir immediately when i saw him fighting for the first time, and i still do but that lack of conditioning is really frustrating Same thing with Vera, i started to like him right away. I hope that both fighters will be in good shape, and if they do, it will be great match, i think.

Mir has to be the sentimental favourite, but sentinments unfortunately won't win you any bets. Although I haven't seen many of Vera's fights, the one's I have seen indicate that he is capable of dominating this fight is every aspect, especially when it comes to striking. However, at the risk of sounding redundant, if Mir shows up in shape and is fully prepared mentally, there isn't a single person in the heavyweight division who can stop him. Granted this is all hypothetical, but when the fight goes to the ground, Mir will take control, and likely win. In short, if Mir and Vera stay standing, Mir is toast. Likewise for Vera if the fight goes to the ground.

The Hughes rematch with GSP should be great, hopefully Hughes has a steel cup this match incase he get another stray knee. Should be an excellent war standing and on the ground. I am also very much looking forward to Monson and Sylvia, this could be a great match of striker v. Wrestler.
Should be a great PPV

I am excited about Hughes/GSP and Vera/Mir but I am not excited about Sylvia/ Monson. IMO it would be a much more exciting fight had it been AA/Monson.
All in all it should be a great ppv and who knows maybe monson will surprise us and we will have a couple more new champs.

Monson all the Way. Via Bear Hug. That guy looks like a tank with feet. The next gal tim goes out with, better be actual blind date once Monson destroys him. :sport-smi Overall cant wait looks like a great card.

surprise whom? i have thought from the day this fight was announced that monson wouyld take it, and i still believe.
i just hope its not a cat and mouse game where tim avoids for fear of being taken down, and monson aviods for fear of getting hit.

Monson has been working his boxing for several years now so you may see him throw strikes if he can get on the inside. Tim on the other hand says that Monson will never be able to take him down and is'nt even worried. Tim's reasoning is that Jeff's only way to win is on the ground and that makes it easy to train for him.

I hope Sylvia losses the belt, but I don't think he will. I think he's going to KO Monson in the first round.

Would deffinatly be interesting to have all new champs (with the exception of chuck). Looking at the same 4 champs was starting to get kind of boring.

this overconfidence will, i suspect, will noly help monson. considering monson's skills, tim should be worried, if not, this fight may be even shorter than i suspect

As much as i am looking forward to Hughes-GSP i think i have the most interest in this match. This is a must win for Mir and he knows that. it will be interesting to see how Mir has used these past few months and to see how Vera has progressed.

Updated UFC 65 card
The card is filling up, here are the rumors from mmaweekly:
-Matt Hughes (#1 Welterweight in the world)* vs. Georges St. Pierre (#2 Welterweight)*
-Tim Sylvia (#5 Heavyweight)* vs. Jeff Monson
-Nick Diaz (#9 Welterweight)* vs. Graison Tibau
-Brandon Vera vs. Frank Mir
-Joe Stevenson vs. Dokonjonosuke Mishima
-James Irvin vs. Hector Ramirez
-Alessio Sakara vs. Wilson Gouveia
-Brad Imes vs. Antoni Hardonk
-Jake O'Brien vs. Josh Shockman
I'm looking forward to the two title fights, Mir/Vera, Sakara/Gouveia somewhat and interested to see if Imes has improved.
Also, here is the link to the UFC 65 site:

Mir is around 238 right now.
This is the hardest he's ever trained for a fight.

Why would someone laugh at the comparison of Vera and Silva, they are pretty simalar in style.
