I love the "Chuck's not sticking with the game plan" comments over and over as he was getting pummelled.

Not only will Tito last longer, I think he has a good chance to become champ again.

Tito has a chance of course. he's one of the top fighters in the world i give him a chance agianst anyone. i always say it because its true. Styles make fights. its why i had no doubt in my mind Silva was gonna beat Franklin. Titos style is very bad agianst Chuck. Tito has to take Chuck down to win the fight and then he has to keep him down. on top of all that he has to avoid getting knocked out. his weak standup game is gonna put him in serious danger every time the fight goes to the feet. Chuck has really good Cardio so Tito has to watch out for that shot every minute of the fight. Tito does not have what it takes to end the fight early agianst Chuck. where as Chuck has all the potential to end the fight early agianst Tito. Tito can win but i doubt he will.

I think that is the first time I have ever heard someone say Chuck has good cardio. We are talking about Chuck Liddell right?

If Tito starts connecting,we may very well see Chuck shoot. That would be crazy.
And if Tito won.....
That would be the biggest upset since the Athenians defeated Persia.
|
If Tito wins in a hand to hand fight, that would be an upset. However, If you are just talking about the two of them in a fight...it would not be "the biggest"...not even close...

Really. i would have never said Chuck had bad cardio. in his fight agianst Horn he didnt seem to gas. nor did he agianst White. yeah he seem'd really winded in the fight vs Rampage but i wouldnt say he has cardio problems like BJ or something.

Well I don't mean it's like horrible or anything. It's just not a strong point. But really what did he have to do against Horn? They never went to the ground once. He just pummelled him as he got in close. That doesn't take much energy. Not even close to having to work your way off the ground. If Tito can successfully take him down several times, even if Chuck gets back up it's going to be draining him. And eventually Tito by TKO in the 4th.

I'm not but my friend Charles is. He's a big balding fellow and way awesome because he doesn't try to wack me when I call him that.

Haha nice. Chooch is a great word. My grandma taught me all the important Italian words. Important meaning ones you use when you're angry.

I definitely agree. I think his improved standup will help him defend better to last longer so he can use his cardio advantage. I also think Randy had a great chance to win the last two fights but unfortunately it didn't happen. Alot of people say that a GnP fighter is not a good matchup for Chuck but I don't think we're going to see anyone outstrike him anytime soon. All it takes is someone stronger (Randy said Tito definitely felt stronger than Chuck when he was commenting on Chuck vs Tito I) and with a good enough shot to get past the sprawl. If Tito can get Chuck against the fence I think he can take him down. Chuck might get back but simply rinse and repeat and Chuck is going to get alittle tired. On the other hand (as I've said before) Chuck has 25 minutes and all he has to land is one shot and its over.

I think that's exactly right. If chuck wins it'll be early, if Tito wins it'll be late.

I just said this exact thing in another thread. Tito can get takedowns and Chuck will get up but it'll tire him out.

Nah, but Sobral people were saying that just because he had 10 wins in a row. Big deal. He still got badly KTFO by Liddell.
At least Tito survived a round and landed some shots before getting KTFO.

Really good points. im really excited about this fight. im hoping for Chuck to win because of the kinds of matchs it will set up for the future. i think Tito has the right gameplan for Chuck i just think he'll come up short.

Don't you think more interesting matches would be set up if Liddell loses? If he beats Tito it just kinda cements that no one in the LHW division can beat him.

Definitely a good point, Chuck having two of the biggest weapons in the UFC is a very dangerous thing for Tito...Tito is going to need a good game plan to try and limit Chuck's striking ability...

call me crazy, but i would suggest that tito stood much better than i ever thought he would. i pick on tito a lot, but he really did impress me in round one of the first fight. if he could only manage to avoid the flury that chuck is so capable of, i think this may be shocking fight to everyone. i still think chuck will win (and hopefully bust out the gravedigger), but i think/hope and pray that tito can and will make a fight out of it.

Haha...if I see Chuck win and bust out the gravedigger...I might fall off my chair laughing...that would be priceless...The only bad things with fights with Chuck is that they can end at anytime...could be 5 rounds or 1...you never know with him...I hope it goes the distance, of course...

Liddell is a very confident striker and has to really respect his opponents hands if he ever strays from his counter-striking gameplan. i don't see Chuck ever having respect for Tito's striking. Chuck did'nt have respect for Randy's striking either. not in any of their 3 fights. i feel the first fight was lost by Chuck because he did'nt train hard and his cardio was awful, and yes, Chuck was surprised that Randy could box reasonably well. Chuck will only shoot if someone can hurt him standing, very unlikely.

Are you stupid? Tito destroyed Forrest in the first round probley a 10-8 round. Tito was injured preventing him from shooting properly.
Tito wont make the same mistake as he did before by standing with Chuck, and Tito will train for this fight harder then any other, Chuck is v ery predictable IMO, if chuck wins it's gonna be by TKO and that's all.
Not to mention Titos conditioning.
