Thai boxers have some ridiculous speed and power in their kicks...they would rule the clinch, and actually know takedowns...The boxers punches are far more devastating...but the thai boxer's elbows make up for it-IMO.
Now a boxer vs a western style kickboxer...who knows...I'd go for the boxer.
But angryjonny is right, generic matchups are by definition a bit ambiguous.
