I also liked the Bushido Blade games. The idea of no life bars in a fighting game was awesome. It was take a blade to the head or neck, and die. Take a blade to an arm... and have one less arm to use, etc. Really good concept imo. Blade to the heart? Death.
It was fun dueling friends, running around through bamboo sticks then jumping out with some stab, getting sidestepped and stabbed in the side... or coming down for that stab, instead ducking and taking out your opponent's legs so he has to fight off his back.. oh yeah.

Mortal Kombat trilogy
So many characters to choose from, who all had there own special moves. Then all the finishing moves (fatality, animality, etc). Arcade mode was pretty solid (well the last boss was) but its all good. Then you get the game designer popping in now and again saying toasty, oh the memories.

Arcades certainly still exist, just not as popular as they once were. I myself spent hours today playing guys against various arcade fighting games.

I wouldn't mind buying a used Karate Champ arcade machine, loved that game. I saw an UFC 's Sudden Impact on PS2 yesterday at a local Gamestop. But the salesperson told us that lots of customers bought then return it for some unsaid reasons. Anyone has played this game before ? how's the control on the movement, is it a good game to get ?

Its nothing like UFC in my opinion. The rounds are like tekken (but only 1 of them, therefore they dont last very long, health goes down very quick). Takedowns are really easy to do, very easy to beat the computer. Its ok for a mess around but you may as well buy Tekken until someone decent makes a UFC game.
Just my opinion

Sounds kinda neat. I have never played a UFC game before, so that sounds interesting.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Soul Caliber series yet? I loved it.

It was for the old PSOne.

Kengo: Master Of Bushido is for PS2, and uses the same engine as BB.

I would go with Street Fighter series as well as Mortal Kombat. Also the Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the old NES would be a good runner up.

Does anyone remember the Nintendo wrestling game? I think it was called Ultimate Wrestling or something like that. It had a wrestler who had a big star on his face. I used to love that game.

It was Tecmo Wrestling. Basically it was UFC and wrestling mixed as you could pull off any move you wanted to. Pretty cool game.

i think that game was originally on Coleco Vision, a system that predates even the original NES. anyone ever play Karateka for Atari 7800? i always used to get killed by the bird that one guy had. i think that was how it was, been close to 20 years now.
