Wow, Tim's paycheck is big....I guess if Matt Hughes won his fight he will have a bigger paycheck than Tim.

im a bit bemused as to why frank mir deserves $36,000 for losing and Vera got an extra $4k for winning the fight, Mir is a washed up shadow of his former self, he obviously isnt to concerned about getting back into his former self and should be dropped by the UFC like a hot potatoe

The UFC generally doubles your guaranteed money if you win. Thus Hughes would have taken home $150,000 had he won. GSP would have taken $29,000 had he lost. And so on.
The only surprising one would be Mir with $36,000 in a losing effort. That's probably what it took for Mir to sign on as a former champ to basically be a stepping stone. Also, these guys often sign 3 fight contracts. Being this was the third fight since returning, Mir may have had that guaranteed money signed to him for his return. It will be more interesting to see if and when he returns to the Octagon, what will his pay be then.

I think Monson should have received more than $13,000.

GSP beats Hughes and yet Hughes gets the bigger pay off? That's messed up. I'd be pissed if I were GSP.

Even GSP said something about money he recieved from the PPV sales. i believe all the fighters get a cut from it. there were reports of him making near 400K total. so i find it hard to believe that Monson only made 13k for this im sure he got another piece of the pie.

why Hughes deserved more then GSP. Matt has fought in the UFC for a long time he deserved every bit of money he made if not more. you should be paid based on more then if you won the fight. what you've done for the sport the UFC in general, your past preformances hughes has built a name, and the fight at hand he was the champ defending his title. not only do i think he deserved more for this fight i wouldnt be opposed to him making more then GSP in the rematch. you have to earn your money and GSP hasnt yet accomplish'd what Hughes has so he shouldnt get the money Hughes gets.

the only one im kidding about would be Royce Gracie. im a huge fan and have been for a long time. i believe Penn will be the LW champ when the smoke clears. the others are also who i want to see rather then just what i believe. however i think all of them have a chance to hold the belt in those weight classes. including Gracie i just dont think he'll fight for the UFC anymore.

Its the same in boxing. And there are rarely win bonuses there. For instance, even though Carlos Baldomir was the champ, he earned less than a 1/4 of what what an undersized but very popular Arturo Gatti got. Its all a matter of drawing power, and at that point Hughes, coming off his wins over Penn and Gracie, was a much bigger name.

that drawing power makes a big difference. look at what tito makes, and this doesnt include his undisclosed bonuses and gate percentage.
i am quite curious to see how much tito and chuck make. will be interesting.

Ya, but the UFC also bought GSP a brand new Hummer for winning along with his pay. So in reality, he cleared well above 100K for that fight easily....

I suspect Monson did, because he was on the co-main event. I don't think that fighters who aren't in the main event get any part of the gate or PPV, but I could be wrong.
PS; I don't think Royce could make 155.
