i am amazed that no one has responded to this as its something that i would hope all MMA fans are aware of. as an example, look at what took place in the NFL SI.com - NFL - Everett's injury 'catastrophic', paralysis likely - Monday September 10, 2007 8:44PM a man gets paralyzed and will probably be that way for the remainder of his life. its a terrible situation that is quite sad and i hope he can lead a semi normal life. he has made steps to recovery and the media is following this tragedy. Take the same situation and put it in MMA. Can you imagine the media frenzy if someone suffered a spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis? they would have a field day and i can only imagine the headlines. although i can be sure that outside they MMA community they would lean towards the negative side overshadowing the fact that this could happen in any sport.
