Jeff Monson can't get a break.
in the last year Jeff Monson has been scheduled to fight the following, Fedor, Aleksander E., Roman Zsentsov, Fujita, Wes Sims and to compete in the GFC. all those fights except the Fujita fight fell through and he is supposed to be fighting Rizzo soon although that fight was supposed to take place back in early Aug. he also missed the ADCC championships this year. Jeff Monson has to be the unluckiest MMA fighter currently active. in the future there should be Vbookie on whether or not Jeff will actually fight in an event. look foward to seeing him compete against Pedro Rizzo, so lets all keep our fingers crossed.

I'd attribute it more to a boring fighting style than bad luck. He is a strict ground fighter and most fans don't want to see this kind of matchup. I'm really looking forward to seeing Rizzo fight again but I suspect that Monson will just take him down and keep him there resulting in another snoozefest.

i dont find many of his fights boring, but its not like i dont understand
im just appreciative that theres still room in this sport for that level of technicality. Monson isnt even terrible on his fight, he just has a plan i enjoy seeing him work for position or a hold

I tend not to agree. Jeff is extremly fast with unreal subs and super strong, his striking is also underated. I look forward to the Rizzo fight and predict a second round sub by Jeff. He also seems like a smart and nice person.

Monson is a beast at submissions I agree. His style just doesn't appeal to the mass of NA MMA fans and I think that may be the reason that we don't see more of him.

I do tend to agree with that, good points. A sad fact however.

Jeff's also a pro boxer with a winning record. Trust me -- the dude knows how to throw fast and hard leather. The problem is that with his reach, in HW MMA it's usually pointless for him to try to box so he shoots for takedowns. Can't blame him.
