Chuck Norris won several competitions, trained under bruce lee, and retired undefeated. he was a fighter long before he became famous... and Cheick Kongo is an absolute monster, hes going to be the champ.

I think it depends on how you define "fighter". Under MMA rules Chuck Norris wouldn't make it out of the first round against any decent fighter his weight...

Chuck Norris was one of the best point fighters ever, in an era when it was full contact.....do not confuse the actor with who he was as a fighter..

but number 3 ever ?

Bruce Lee never fought professionally so he is a no choice.....

1. Ernesto Hoost
2. Anderson Silva
3. Randy Couture
4. Frank Shamrock
5. Rob Kamen

ps. Chuck Norris did not train under Bruce Lee...they trained together...Norris is given credit by many for lee's sudden passion for high kicks upon training with norris...saying that norris won several tournaments is underting what norris did he was unbeaten for 2 years in point tournaments...
norris did not retire undefeated in point tournament fighting and never kickboxed or was in a full contact tournament....

norris was probably not even the best point fighter ever....keith vitali or steve "nasty" anderson would be my choices

I dont think Bruce lee is overrated , I think at his 65kg weight class , , he would be the best at his weight class. against bigger guys, even the lightweight UFC division , no chance .

Whatever is said about Bruce lee is all speculation, because he has never fought full contact fighting, let alone MMA. and so until this day, he is unproven.

having said that , his technique is about perfect , and his speed is phenomonal.
his high kick speed is almost double the speed that crocop throws his high kicks at. If you've seen Bruce lee do his thing in real time speed , unbelieveable.

I think that Bruce was an amazing athelete and in my opinion invented MMA.

He deserves to be the number one on anyones list.

(Yup he is a hero of mine!)
